We don't know how long it had been leaking. When we removed the soaked carpet on the basement
slab, we found the bottom plates, the bottom of the 2x4 studs and the existing paneling had all been damaged by
the water. We have replaced the 2x4 walls with 2x6 studs and bottom plates. We will use R21 value insulation and
1/2" gypsum to decrease heat loss. Since we had to repair the walls, we chose to update the electrical wiring for
that room. (Permit# E2405-137). When Mike came to inspect the electrical work, he told us we needed a building
permit for the repair of the walls.
In addition, since the discovery of the leak and damage, we previously updated the bathroom in the basement(with
permits# B2205-043, P2205-010, M2205-032 and E2403-284)to repair the leak and update the fixtures. This has
all been inspected and approved.
There was no damage to the slab floor.
On the plan drawing, we have indicated by cross hatch (see legend)which walls were repaired. These are the south
and west walls in the SW corner of the house.
We will be bringing in the plans with the additional information on Monday June 24.
Thank you,
Regina and Jorge Chacon
206-370-0811
h
On Jun 21, 2024, at 3:02 PM,Yin Lu<YLu@everettwa.gov>wrote: -"y3
Category 2:Sensitive information
Dear Regina,
1 j 2
