Jose Villagomez
Cascade Cleanup and Restoration, Inc.
Plan Check Number: B2106-009, First Building Review
October 12, 2021
5. Continuing with the previous comment, if the CS-PF braced wall is to be utilized at the walls
adjacent to the garage door, then the garage door header on Sheet S-3 should be specified as
continuous and should meet the minimum required size specified in Detail 1/No Sheet Number
titled Portal Framing.
6. See Sheet A-1 and Page 4 of the APA Wall Bracing Calculator Project Report. Braced walls
should be specified at the location of Wall Line 1 as shown in the braced wall design.
7. See Section R602.10.8 and Detail 4/A-5. Detail should specify a continuous rim or band joist or
blocking. A note should specify that all connections to be per Table R602.3(1) shown on Sheet
unnumbered.
8. Provide general structural notes including but not limited to:
a. Specify all design load values, including dead, live, snow, wind, and soil bearing
values.
b. Specify maximum design concrete strength, concrete sack mix and reinforcing bar
grade.
9. See Sheet S-2. Plans specify an option for TJI floor joists but provided calculations do not show
a design for TJI joists. Provide a design calculation for the TJI floor joists or remove option note
from the plans.
10. See Sheet A-1, A-2, S-1, and S-2. Plans should show stair framing, connections, and supporting
member sizes for the stairs located in the house, garage, and porch. R106.1.1
11. See Sheet S-3, note 4. Plans should provide a detail of the ladder framing located at gable ends
and any specify connections.
12. See Sheet S-3. Plans should specify gable end bracing capable to resist out of plane wall forces
at gable end truss. R502.11.2, R106.1.1
13. See Detail 10/A-5. Detail should specify minimum penetration into the connecting member. It
appears that some of the screws are not penetrating the connecting member. See connection
between knee brace and post.
14. See Sheet A-2. It appears that a guardrail is located adjacent to the stairway. Plans should
provide a detail specifying the requirements per Section R312.1. The plans should include
details for the construction of the guards. The guards, connections, and structural framing
supporting the guards should be designed for a 200-pound load applied in any direction and
guard in-fill components should be designed to withstand a horizontally applied normal load of
50 pounds on an area equal to 1 square foot. See loading requirements for guard in IRC Table
301.5.
3200 Cedar Street © 425.257.8810 O everetteps@everettwa.gov
Everett,WA 98201 425.257.8857 fax everettwa.gov/permits
Page 4 of 5
