CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />3rd Ave Water Quality Facility Division 7 – STORM, SEWER, WATER September 12, 2024 <br />WO No. – UP 3775 SP – 173 <br />This Work consists of constructing manholes, inlets, drywells, and catch basins and <br />connecting to existing Structures of the types and sizes designated in accordance with <br />the Plans, these Special Provisions, the Specifications, and the COE Standard <br />Drawings, in conformity with the lines and grades staked. <br />Further supplement 7-05.1 as follows: <br />7-05.1(1) Submittals <br />(******) <br />Provide Type 2 Working Drawings for all materials and Standard Plans. <br />7-05.2 Materials <br />Supplement 7-05.2 by adding the following at the end of the material list: <br />Mortar, nonshrink 9-20.3(2) Standard Specifications <br />Commercial Concrete 6-02.3(2)B Standard Specifications <br />Watertight Connection Boots 9-05.30 Special Provisions <br />Flexible Couplings 9-05.40 Special Provisions <br />Polypropylene Manhole Steps 9-05.64 Special Provisions <br />& Hand Holds <br />Polypropylene Manhole Ladder 9-05.66 Special Provisions <br /> <br />The beehive grate shall be an East Jordan 7750O Grate (Product #00775063), as <br />manufactured by EJ Group, Inc., or approved equivalent in accordance with <br />manufacturer recommendations and applicable City standards and details for overflow <br />catch basins. Beehive grate shall be black in color and lock to frame. <br /> <br />EJ Group, Inc. <br />13127 State Ave <br />Marysville, WA 98271 <br /> <br /> <br />7-05.2(1) Flow Splitter Modification <br />The Flow Splitter Modification shall be existing catch basin (DCB1384S22) and its <br />internal components and proposed locking frame and grate. Modifications to the existing <br />catch basin include removing pipes and gate valves and replacing catch basin lid and <br />pipe connections as shown in the Plans. <br /> <br /> <br />7-05.3 Construction Requirements <br />Supplement 7-05.3 by adding the following after the last sentence of the third paragraph: <br />Install PAMREX, East Jordan Iron Works, or equal, hinged manhole frame and cover in <br />accordance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable City standards and <br />details. <br />Coordinate manhole cover and frame hinge location with manhole steps and traffic <br />lanes. Hinge orientation to be determined during the shop drawing review of precast <br />manhole structures. <br />Delete the tenth paragraph in 7-05.3. <br />Revise the eleventh paragraph in 7-05.3 to read as follows: <br />Provide Kor-N-Seal, or equal, watertight flexible pipe to manhole connectors for pipes <br />up to 48-inch diameter connecting to new sanitary sewer manholes. Place no pipe joint <br />in PVC or HDPE pipe within 10-feet of the outside face of the manhole.
