CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />3rd Ave Water Quality Facility Division 7 – STORM, SEWER, WATER September 12, 2024 <br />WO No. – UP 3775 SP – 187 <br />Use Controlled Density Fill in lieu of select trench backfill for fill above pipe zone at <br />street crossings and as directed by the Engineer in other areas where in order to <br />prevent pavement patch settlement requires high density backfill placement or <br />effective backfill compaction is not possible. <br />Delete the first sentence of the third paragraph. <br />Delete the third and fourth sentences of the fourth paragraph. <br />7-08.3(4) Plugging Existing Pipe <br />Delete the first paragraph of 7-08.3(4) and substitute the following: <br />Where shown on the plans to plug and seal existing water main, sanitary sewer and <br />storm drainage pipe plug existing pipe a minimum distance of 2-feet from the inlet <br />end with cement grout and abandon in place. <br />7-08.4 Measurement <br />Delete all paragraphs in 7-08.4 and substitute the following: <br />Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br />described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section <br />1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br />7-08.5 Payment <br />Delete all paragraphs in 7-08.5 and substitute the following: <br />Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be <br />as described in Division B – Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and <br />Section 1-09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specification7-09 <br /> WATER MAINS <br />7-09 WATER MAINS <br />7-09.1 Description <br />Revise the first paragraph in 7-09.1 to read as follows: <br />This Work consists of constructing water mains in accordance with the Plans, the <br />Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions and the COE Standard Drawings, at <br />the location shown on the Plans. <br />7-09.1(1) Definitions <br />7-09.1(1)D Pipe Zone Backfill <br />Revise the first paragraph in 7-09.1(1)D to read as follows: <br />Pipe zone backfill includes material placed a minimum of 6-inches below the <br />bottom of pipe up to a minimum of 12-inches above the top of pipe as shown <br />on COE Standard Drawing No. 615. <br />7-09.2 Materials <br />Substitute the following for the corresponding material in the material list in 7-09.2: <br />Polyethylene Encasement 9.30.1(2) Special Provisions <br />Fittings 9-30.2 Special Provisions <br />Restrained Joints 9-30.2(6) Special Provisions <br />Bolted, Sleeve–Type Couplings 9-30.2(7) Special Provisions <br />for Plain End Pipe <br />Aggregates: <br />Pipe Zone Backfill 9-03.22 Special Provisions <br />Controlled Density Fill 2.09.3(1)E Special Provisions
