CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />3rd Ave Water Quality Facility Division B – BID DESCRIPTIONS September 20, 2024 <br />WO No. – UP 3775 SP - 17 <br /> <br />Measurement for Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Control shall be the ratio of the <br />number of working days completed to the total number of working days authorized in the <br />Contract. <br />This lump sum bid item includes the maintenance and protection of traffic control materials, <br />tools, and equipment necessary to accomplish the Work in accordance with 1-10.3(2) <br />MAINTENANCE AND PROTECTION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL, including yet not limited to, <br />signs, barricades, cones, flashers, reader boards, and temporary pavement markings. This <br />bid item also includes the Traffic Control Supervisor, when provided. Also included is cost <br />associated with preparation and distribution of public notices involving parking, street access <br />or traffic issues. <br /> Clearing and Grubbing <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Acre (AC) <br />The Contract Price per acre shall be full compensation for, but not limited to, all labor, <br />material, tools, all incidental work and equipment necessary to satisfactorily complete the <br />work as defined in the Standard Specifications, these Specifications and the Contract Plans, <br />including clearing, hauling, disposal of debris, rubbish, excess material, and cleanup and <br />trimming. <br /> HMA Sawcut <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot (LF) <br />Measurement for sawcutting will be per linear foot along the true length of the surface cut. <br />The unit price per lineal foot for the final sawcutting of asphalt and concrete, regardless of <br />depth or location of materials, shall be full compensation for all labor, material, tools, and <br />equipment necessary to satisfactorily complete the Work as specified in Section 2-02.3(3) of <br />these Special Provisions and as shown on the Plans. The unit price per lineal foot for <br />sawcutting includes, but is not limited to, the sawcutting necessary for the final joint between <br />existing improvements and permanent HMA pavement. <br />Include cost of cleanup by vacuum collection and disposal of the cuttings slurry with this bid <br />item as there will be no separate payment for cleanup. Any necessary re-cutting due to <br />damage during excavation will not be remeasured for payment. <br /> Removing Asphalt Conc. Pavement Incl. Haul <br />Measurement and Payment: Square Yard (SY) <br />Measurement for removing asphalt concrete pavement shall be per square yard as delineated by <br />the Contractor and approved by the Inspector. This excludes areas of pavement planing. The unit <br />price for this bid item shall be full payment for all costs incurred to perform the Work described in <br />Section 2-02.3(3) to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, COE Standard Drawings, <br />Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. <br /> Removing Cement Conc. Sidewalk Incl. Haul <br />Measurement and Payment: Square Yard (SY) <br />Measurement for removing cement concrete sidewalk shall be per square yard as delineated by <br />the Contractor and approved by the Inspector. The unit price for this bid item shall be full payment <br />for all costs incurred to perform the Work described in Section 2-02.3(3) to complete the work in <br />accordance with the Plans, COE Standard Drawings, Standard Specifications and these Special <br />Provisions. Concrete sidewalk removal shall be to the nearest existing joint of the limits shown in <br />the Plans. <br />
