►4 ► ► , , 41, • 1 Any voter at said election desiring to vote against such 2 proposed system or plan and the issuance of the bonds and warrants, 3 described in Section two and four of this ordinance shall vote a 4 ballot containing the following statement of the said proposition 5 by placing a cross (X) in the square printed on said ballot oppo- 6 site and at the right of said statement, to-wit : V 7 AGAINST, a system or plan for acquiring, owning and operating 8 the electric light, and power system now used in said city of 9 Everett, for the purpose of providing said city and its inhabitants 10 with electrical energy for light, heat , fuel and power purposes, 11 public and private, and operating the same with electricity pur- 12 chased by the city of Everett or generated by it; and for construct- 13 ing , maintaining and operating as a part of said syst em a hydro- 14 electric plant or plants upon the Sultan River or its tributaries, 15 with such auxiliary steam power plants and transmission lines as 16 mpybe necessary to fully carry out said plan, and for the issu- 17 ance and sale of special light and power revenue fund negotiable 18 coupon bonds in the sum of $2,000,000.00 , maturing serially on 19 January 1, 1926 and on the first day of January of each and every 20 year thereafter until January 1st, 1941, inclusive, bearing inter- 21 est at the rate of not more than six (6%) per cent per annum, pay- 22 able out of the gross revenues from said light, heat, fuel and power 23 system, after deducting the costs of operation and main tenance of 24 said system, all as set out in ordinance number 1923of the 25 city of Everett . 26 The two propositions above set forth shall be printed on a 27 single sheet , and opposite and to the right of each statement of 28 the proposition to be voted upon there shall be printed a blank 29 square within which the voter shall signify by making a cross (X) 30 whether he votes in favor of or against the proposition submitted. 31 -11-
