The building type can be VB. The previous work in the space was IIIB, so we assumed the same.
2. Your explanation for the two B occupancies is acceptable. However, the alley exit shall have an exit sign (as
shown) and swing in the direction of travel.
Please reference this email in your revised response.
Best Regards,
— Scott Schreffler, RA
Senior Architect I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M-F: 8:30 a.m. —12 p.m & 1 p.m. — 3 p.m.
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note: Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
From: Adam Clark <Adam@2812architecture.com>
Sent: Thursday, March 14, 2024 3:36 PM
To: Tony Lee <TLee@everettwa.gov>
Subject: RE: [EXTERNAL] FW: Everett Permit Services - 2402-035 - 2810 Colby Avenue
Category 2: Sensitive information
Sounds fair. Yes, I do know Scott. We have worked together on a few projects in the past.
My main thing here is breaking the space up so that each side has less than 50 occupants. That way we can
maintain the B occupancy. We did this on Terra Cotta Red as well as a couple of other projects that I cannot
remember the names of.
Since fire sprinklers are triggered at 100 occupants we should be good as far as sprinklers go but changing to an A-
2 may present other unknown issues that I would like to avoid.
Thanks,
Adam
Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law.
1
