City of Everett, WA IMEG #24000280.11
August 21, 2024 Page 3 of 4
IMEG Response: Dampers have been provided at the OA inlet, EA inlet and relief air
outlet of the existing energy recovery ventilator. Refer to review drawing M2 and
keynote 14 on drawing M2.
9. Energy code mechanical requirements sheet M11
IMEG Response: Note that with the addition of the commissioning specifications, this
sheet is now sheet M12.
a. Page 11 of 25 — It is unclear how setback controls are being specified on sheet M2 as
noted. Please clarify. See C403.4.2.
IMEG Response: Refer to keynote 4 on drawing M2 and Mechanical Design Conditions
on drawing MO. Each fan coil unit is provided with a programmable thermostat and per
the Mechanical Design Conditions on drawing MO the setback temperatures are down to
550F and up to 85°F. This is in compliance with C403.4.2 and C403.4.2.1.
b. Page 11 of 25 — Please provide automatic start and stop, or explain why automatic start
and stop are "NA." See C403.4.2.3.
IMEG Response: This has been revised to YES on the energy compliance forms.
Keynote 4 on drawing M2 has been revised to indicate this requirement as part of the
programmable thermostat for the fan coil units.
c. Page 12 of 25 — It appears DDC is required per C403.4.11.1. Please revise or note the
exception used.
IMEG Response: Per Table C403.4.11.1 DDC would be required for Alterations or
Additions when air handling systems or fan coil units are being provided and the existing
air handling system(s) and fan coil(s) served the same chilled or hot water plant have
DDC. The existing systems do not include DDC controls and furthermore there is no
chilled or hot water plant. Based on this Table DDC does not appear to be required.
d. Page 12 of 25 - Economizers are required per C403.5. Please revise or note exception(s)
used.
IMEG Response: Exception 9 applies to this project. This project is provided with an
existing dedicated outdoor air system that includes energy recovery even though it is not
required per C403.7.6. Furthermore, this dedicated outdoor air system with energy
recovery does not include mechanical cooling.
Page 13 of 25 - It is unclear how plenums and shafts are sealed. Please clarify. See
C403.10.1.
IMEG Response: Reference on the energy compliance document has been revised to
drawing M4. The Ductwork Insulation Schedule has been revised to include outdoor air
ductwork shall be insulated with minimum R-7 insulation in accordance with Table
C403.10.1.1. Note that the outside air ductwork for this project is inside the conditioned
space and conveys less than 2800 CFM. For duct sealing refer to specification section
23 3000, 3.2 on drawing M9.
Page 13 of 25 — It is unclear how duct pressure are being specified on sheet M2 as
noted. Please clarify. See C403.10.2. It is unclear if high pressure duct testing is
required. Please clarify, note exceptions as applicable. See C403.10.2.3.
IMEG Response: Ductwork pressure classification is indicated in General Note 'C' on
drawing M2. General Note 'C' has been revised to indicate the correct code version and
reference section.
,qk
