Group M -Retail stores <br /> Group E - Division 3 day care occupancies <br /> Group S - Division 3 parking occupancies <br /> Group R-Division 1 apartment(multi-family)houses <br /> Occupancies shall be as defined in the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Building Code. <br /> D-Exiting. <br /> For buildings designed and constructed pursuant to this section, all stair enclosures shall be of <br /> three-hour fire resistive construction having three-hour opening protection. <br /> E-Sprinkler/Fire Detection Protection. <br /> For buildings designed and constructed pursuant to this section, the building shall be protected <br /> throughout by an automatic sprinkler system complying with U.B.C. Standard No. 9-1 [NFPA <br /> 13] as contained in the 1997 Uniform Building Code and further modified in the State Building <br /> Code. The automatic sprinkler system shall not substitute for one-hour fire-resistive <br /> construction. <br /> An approved monitored manual and automatic fire detection system shall be installed throughout <br /> the building and provide alarm, trouble and supervisory monitoring of the automatic fire <br /> sprinkler system. <br /> F-Height. <br /> The maximum height of buildings designed and constructed pursuant to this section shall be 65 <br /> feet. The height shall be measured as provided in the Uniform Building Code. The height of <br /> building sections with no fire apparatus access shall not exceed the height of adjacent sections. <br /> No mezzanines are permitted. <br /> G-Fire Fighting Access. • <br /> For buildings designed and constructed pursuant to this section, access to the building for fire <br /> fighting and related purposes shall be provided as follows: <br /> Subject to the approval of the Fire Chief and Building Official, a minimum of two of the exterior <br /> facades of the building shall be accessible by a ladder truck, according to the following <br /> standards: <br /> 1. Setup points shall be a minimum of one every 200 lineal feet of building façade on a <br /> minimum of two sides. <br /> 2. A minimum 50%of dwelling units with windows on accessible sides will be within aerial <br /> reach of a setup point. <br /> 3. The distance from building to setup point shall be approved by the Fire Chief. <br /> 4. Access to setup point shall be via an approved fire access road. <br /> 5. Surfaces of setup points shall be designed to support aerial weight loads. <br /> 3 <br />
