Woodchips shall be kept at least 2 inches from the trunks or stems of plants to prevent plant <br /> damage. <br /> Water <br /> Plants shall be watered thoroughly immediately after planting. <br /> 6.3 PROJECT MONITORING PROGRAM <br /> 6.3.1 Project Goals and Objectives <br /> The general goal of this restoration plan is to provide greater functions to the on-site stream and <br /> buffer. The specific goals of the restoration plan are to increase vegetative cover and species <br /> diversity, increase soil stabilization capacity, decrease erosion, increase the bio-filtration capacity <br /> of the buffer, and increase browsing and cover opportunities for wildlife. <br /> To achieve the goals previously stated, invasive plants and litter will be removed, and native <br /> vegetation will be installed within the disturbed buffer area. The following objectives will further <br /> the specific goals stated above: to install vegetation that is of high value to wildlife, that is armored <br /> and thicket-forming, forms wide-spreading and/or deep roots, and that will densely cover the <br /> ground surface. This goal will have been achieved when the restoration area achieves the <br /> performance standards listed below. <br /> 6.3.2 Monitoring Requirements <br /> A compliance report(as-built report)will be supplied to the City of Everett within 30 days after the <br /> completion of planting. The monitoring period will begin after the city has approved the as-built <br /> report. A landscape professional,wetland biologist, or the property owner will perform condition <br /> monitoring of the plantings annually in the fall for five years. A written report describing the <br /> monitoring results will be submitted to the city after each site inspection of each monitored year. <br /> Inspection/Reporting Schedule <br /> 1. Initial compliance/as-built report <br /> 2.Annual site inspection (once per year in the fall) for five years <br /> 3. Annual reports including final report (one report submitted in the fall of each monitored year) <br /> Purpose for Monitoring <br /> The purpose for monitoring this mitigation project shall be to evaluate its success. Success will be <br /> determined if monitoring shows at the end of five years that the definitions of success stated below <br /> are being met. The property owner shall grant access to the mitigation area for inspection and <br /> maintenance to the contracted landscaper and/or wetland specialist and the city during the period <br /> of the bond or until the project is evaluated as successful. <br /> Monitoring <br /> Monitoring shall be conducted annually for five years in accordance with the approved Restoration <br /> Plan. The monitoring period will begin once the city receives written notification confirming the <br /> Talley - 18th Ave W 12 Critical Area Study and Buffer Restoration Plan <br /> WRI#19238 November 6, 2019 <br />
