SECTION 07 6210 <br /> SHEET METAL FLASHING AND TRIM <br /> PART 1 -GENERAL <br /> 1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br /> A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br /> Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, shall apply to this Section. <br /> 1.02 SUMMARY <br /> A. This Section includes sheet metal flashing and trim in the following categories: <br /> 1. Coping <br /> 2. Curb caps and slip flashing <br /> 3. Reglet and counterflashing <br /> 4. Metal flashing units <br /> 5. Scuppers and Collectors <br /> 1.03 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. General: Install sheet metal flashing and trim to withstand wind loads, structural movement, <br /> thermally induced movement, and exposure to weather without failing. <br /> B. Fabricate and install flashings at roof edges to comply with: <br /> 1. FM Global Loss Prevention Data Sheet 1-49 for Wind Zone 1 <br /> 2. ANSI/SPRI ES-1 <br /> 1.04 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. General: Submit in accordance with Section 013000. <br /> B. Product Data: Manufacturer's specifications covering material and finish data, installation <br /> instructions, and general recommendations for each specified flashing material and fabricated <br /> product. <br /> C. Alternates: No alternate roofing specifications will be permitted. For any items specified as an <br /> "or equal", Contractor must provide submittals for approval by the roofing consultant and the <br /> owner's representative. Contractor assumes all liability and costs associated thereof for <br /> installing any item not previously approved in writing by the owner's representative. <br /> D. Shop Drawings: Prior to commencing the roofing work, submit shop drawings to the consultant <br /> for approval for all details not specifically shown in the drawings and any recommended <br /> revisions. For example, include roof plan with location of revised detail. <br /> 1.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Installer Qualifications: Engage an experienced mechanic who has completed sheet metal <br /> flashing and trim work similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project <br /> and with a record of successful in-service performance. <br /> B. Pre-Construction Conference: Prior to beginning the work, the consultant will arrange a <br /> conference with the roofing contractor and other trades involved, with their respective foreman, <br /> to again review the scope of work, specifications, and owner's expectations. <br /> C. Record of Work: Keep record indicating temperature and moisture conditions and type and <br /> location of work being done during each day of roofing operations. <br /> D. Application: Accomplish roofing work with supervisor, foreman, and mechanics thoroughly <br /> skilled in the application of the specified materials. Workmanship shall meet industry standards <br /> and shall fulfill the requirements of the Contract Documents. Follow specific directions <br /> published by the manufacturer and referenced standards, regarding fabrication and application <br /> of specified materials. Do not deviate from these instructions without prior written approval from <br /> the consultant and owner's representative.
