E. Coordination: Coordinate Work of this Section with interfacing and adjoining Work for proper <br /> sequencing of each installation. Ensure best possible weather resistance, durability of Work, <br /> and protection of materials and finishes. <br /> 1.06 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING <br /> A. Contractor shall comply with Section 016000 - Equipment and Material Storage and <br /> manufacturer's guidelines regarding the delivery, storage and handling of all materials that are <br /> used or incorporated into the roofing system. <br /> PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 METALS <br /> A. Carbon Steel: <br /> 1. Shall comply with ASTM A 653/A 653M, G 90, hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with 0.20 <br /> percent copper, not less than 0.0396 inch (1.0 mm)thick (24 gauge), unless otherwise <br /> indicated on drawings. <br /> 2. Rivets shall be zinc plated with steel mandrels, with organic prefinished coating where <br /> exposed. <br /> 3. Solder shall be 50/50, Tin/Lead, one pound bars complying with ASTM-B-32, Grade Sn50. <br /> 4. Use 20% muriatic acid flux or rosin flux. Neutralize flux after soldering. <br /> 5. Finishes where indicated on drawings: <br /> a. Mill finish <br /> b. Organic Steel Finishes: Sheet metal shall be manufactured with an extra smooth <br /> surface, primed, and finished on one side with Kynar(tm) based fluoropolymer coating <br /> 1.0 +0.1 mil total dry film thickness. Pre- painted finish shall be protected with a <br /> strippable finish. A wash coat of.3 -.4 mil dry film applied to reverse side. Color shall <br /> be selected by Owner from manufacturer's full range of choices for color and gloss. <br /> c. Plastic Vinyl Coating: Sheet metal shall be manufactured with one side laminated <br /> with 28 mils minimum of thermoplastic film to match the membrane. The product <br /> shall be suitable for a monolithic heat weldable flashing system supplied by the <br /> manufacturer. Joints shall be formed with 2" (50 mm) aluminum foil tape and then <br /> made watertight by heat welding a 4 inch (100 mm)wide unsupported membrane <br /> cover strip over the aluminum tape. <br /> 2.02 FASTENERS <br /> A. General: Same metal as sheet metal flashing or other noncorrosive metal as recommended by <br /> sheet metal manufacturer. Match finish of exposed heads with material being fastened. <br /> B. Sheet Metal to Wood (Exposed): Hex head screws with EPDM/stainless steel sealing bearing <br /> washers. Length sufficient to penetrate wood 1-1/4". Maximum spacing shall be 24" on center. <br /> C. Hook Strips (cleats) into Wood: <br /> 1. Annular threaded nails with 3/16" minimum flat head. Nail shall penetrate wood a <br /> minimum of 1-1/4", spaced a minimum of 12" on center or; <br /> 2. # 10 corrosion resistant screws. The screw thread shall penetrate the wood a minimum of <br /> 1", spaced a maximum of 16" on center. <br /> D. Anchor Bars, Reglet or Sheet Metal to Concrete: <br /> 1. High strength steel anchors with sealing/bearing washer, length sufficient to penetrate <br /> substrate%/4' minimum. <br /> 2. Pin-driven, lead encased, expansion anchors with sealing/bearing washer. Zamac <br /> fastener or equal. <br /> 2.03 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS AND ACCESSORIES <br /> A. Sealant: Water-based high velocity air duct sealant, RCD#8 mastic as manufactured by RCD <br /> Corporation, 2850 Dillard Rd, Eustis, Florida 32726, Telephone: 1-800-854-7494 or approved <br /> equal.
