Technician Qualifications: Direct employee of manufacturer of primary control <br />system with a minimum of 5 years of experience for systems programming, <br />startup, trouble -shooting and diagnostics. <br />4. Installer Qualifications: By the District Office of the manufacturer as a <br />subcontract, or by a firm regularly engaged in the installation of building direct <br />digital HVAC control systems for a period of not less than 5 years. The entire <br />control system shall be installed by qualified electricians and mechanics, all of <br />which are properly trained and qualified for the work they perform, and directly <br />supervised by the local representative of the component manufacturer. <br />2.2 APPLICATION SPECIFIC CONTROLLERS <br />A. Application Specific Controllers shall be fully programmable or pre-programmed to <br />support, but not be limited to, the control of the following configurations of Unitary <br />equipment to address current requirements as described in the sequence of operation, <br />and for future expansion. Controllers shall support all the necessary point inputs and <br />outputs to perform the specified control sequences in a totally stand alone fashion. <br />Application programs and parameter data shall be stored in nonvolatile memory: <br />1. Unit Ventilators (ASHRAE Cycle I, ll, III, or W). <br />2. Heat Pumps (Air to Air, Air to Water). <br />3. Packaged Rooftops. <br />4. Fan Coils and Air Conditioning Units. <br />5. Cabinet Heaters, Unit Heaters, Convectors, and Radiators. <br />B. The modes of operation supported by the Controllers shall include, but not be limited to, <br />the following: <br />1. Day/Weekly Schedule. <br />2. Comfort/Occupancy Mode. <br />3. Economy Mode (Standby Mode, Unoccupied, etc.). <br />4. Temporary Override Mode. <br />C. The operator interface to any Application Specific controller point data or programs shall <br />be through any network -resident PC workstation, any PC or portable operator's terminal <br />connected to any DDC panel in the network, or through terminal jack at room <br />temperature sensor. <br />D. Provide NEMA enclosure rated for installed location. A local disconnect shall be provided <br />at each Application Specific controller to individually disconnect control power without <br />interruption to any other digital controller. <br />2.3 SURGE PROTECTION <br />A. Power Line Surge Protection Surge suppressers external to digital controller, shall be <br />installed on all incoming AC power. Surge suppresser shall be rated by UL 1449 (latest <br />edition), and have clamping voltage ratings below the following levels: <br />1. Normal Mode (Line to Neutral): 350 Volts. <br />2. Common Mode (Line to Ground): 350 Volts. <br />2.4 WIRING <br />A. AC Control Wiring: <br />1. Control wiring for 24 V circuits shall be <br />shall be rated for 300 VAC service. <br />2.
