The thermal rating (i.e., Rmin, Umax) should be specified for each component of the building (e.g., walls, windows). Prescriptive values should be specified per WSEC Tables R402.1.1 or R402.1.3. Note that R-13 insulation as specified on Sheet A2.3 is not sufficient for this level as it is new habitable space. Alternatively, the thermal envelop may be designed per the Total UA method of WSEC Section R402.1.4; calculations substantiating the design should be included in the submittal documents.
