a. The lateral structural calculations appear to utilize different soil bearing capacities for <br /> different foundations. For example,the shear wall calculations at Grid A, Segment I have <br /> factors of safety of 1.44 and 1.02, respectively. But their maximum bearing pressures are <br /> 15,346psf and 4,367psf, respectively. Please revise calculations to meet the chosen <br /> project site-based geotechnical soil capacities and IBC Section 1806. <br /> 2. It appears that the lateral structural calculations have some factors of safety that are smaller than <br /> 1.0. Please revise so that the soil reactions in sliding, bearing,and overturning are not over-loaded <br /> with respect to the load combinations required for allowable stress design of the shallow <br /> foundations (See Section 1806.1). <br /> To continue review, please provide two new sets of revised construction documents reflecting the <br /> corrections requested. Please include a brief response letter which indicates how the corrections were <br /> resolved.
