a. All portions of the building being altered are subject to current codes for the <br /> new work. Existing building elements that are not being altered must comply <br /> with code in effect during original construction. <br /> New work complies with applicable building codes as noted on sheet <br /> Al 00. <br /> b. Energy upgrades to any system being altered, including heating, water <br /> heating, lighting, etc. See WSEC-0503.2 and C505.3. <br /> Lighting will be altered with the addition of 4 wall sconces along the <br /> north wall. Otherwise, all other lighting fixtures were existing. The <br /> Lighting calculation per item 18 is attached showing compliance with <br /> the existing and additional lighting. <br /> c. Accessibility upgrades to the extent technically feasible. See IEBC 306.5 and <br /> 306.7. <br /> Accessibility upgrades are made to the restroom. See sheet Al01 for <br /> clearances and grab bar locations. <br /> Architectural,Accessibility& Energy <br /> 7. Please provide and show the locations of accessible seating and counter access. <br /> See ANSI 117/1-2017 Section 902 and 904. <br /> All table seating is 29" high, complying with ANSI 117/1-2017 sections 902 <br /> and 904. Accessible seating, counter access and counter height at the bar is <br /> shown on sheet A100 on the floor plan. <br /> 8. Please show all accessible features in the bathroom, including grab bars and <br /> clearance under the sink. See ANSI 117.1-2017 Section 604 and 606. <br /> Accessible restroom features are shown on sheet A101 and designed per <br /> ANSI 117.1-2017 sections 604 and 606. <br /> 9. The exit out the back should swing out in the direction of travel. See IBC 1010.1.2.1. <br /> Per IBC 1010.1.2.1, the door swing is required to be in the direction of egress <br /> travel. The path of egress is through the front door on the east side of the <br /> building and not through the back door to the alley.This was confirmed at the <br /> initial intake meeting with Permitting Services. <br /> 10. Please show the remainder of the exit corridor out to the alley, including the length <br /> of the corridor to the exterior exit door and existing or new lighting. See IBC 107.2.3. <br /> Corridor shown on sheets A100 and A101.The total distance from threshold <br /> to back door is 43'-4". <br /> 11.Show exit signs on the back alley door and throughout the route to the alley. See IBC <br /> 1013.1. <br /> Exit signs are shown on sheet A101.The back alley door is not a path of <br /> egress, however, there is lighting and exit signs in the hallway. <br /> 12.Show emergency lighting on battery backup. See IBC 1008.1. <br /> Emergency lighting with battery backup shown on sheet A101. <br />
