KW EVT, LLC proposes to develop a cross -dock freight handling facility on a 16.36 acre site that is part of the <br />Riverside Business Park in Everett, Washington. A cross -dock facility receives incoming freight from regional <br />carriers and redistributes the freight to other trucks bound for regional destinations or to trucks that will make <br />local deliveries. All freight is transferred immediately from one truck to another with no freight being stored <br />onsite. <br />6b. Describe the purpose of the project and why you want or need to perform it. hel <br />The 8th Street Cross -dock Facility is being developed to meet current demand for this type of facility by a <br />nationwide freight expediter. The project is comprised of the following elements: <br />• A 30,660 SF 64-door freight -handling service center, <br />• A 7,919 square foot 16-door service center expansion area including a 3,364 square foot vehicle <br />maintenance bay, <br />• 189 pup (shorter trailer) parking spaces, <br />• 44 van (longer trailer) parking spaces, <br />• 72 tractor (truck only) parking spaces, <br />• 8 doubles (truck with two trailers) parking spaces, <br />• 116 employee parking spaces, <br />• 7 visitor parking spaces, <br />• A 5,151 square foot office. <br />6c.
