Based on the number of comments
in the intake review, please include an itemized response letter clarifying how each comment was addressed.
I performed a cursory review of the revised drawings, and they still appear to require additional information. It is not
clear that all comments have been addressed. The drawings do not appear to include sufficient structural information
to perform all proposed work, including but not limited to material requirements (e.g.,wood species and grade, etc.),
new wall framing details, headers, column sizes, foundation construction, roof sheathing and additional details for its
construction, and a framing fastener schedule. Missing architectural requirements include but are not limited to
exterior envelope insulation (new exterior elements must comply with current code, including existing framing enclosing
new conditioned space), roof ventilation calculation and details, attic access, and egress window requirements. It is
noted that the "Notes" on Sheet Al do not state that the design should comply with the IRC, which is presumed to be
the primary code for this project, including structural work(except where engineered design is performed per Section
R301.1.3). Lastly, drawings should be prepared in black and white; color should be removed, and recognized drafting
standards should be used to clearly delineate between existing and new work.
— Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
Associate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/T: 8 am - 12 pm & 1 pm—3 pm;Tu: 1:OOpm-3:OOpm
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
From:Tyler Barberi <barberi_tyler@yahoo.com>
Sent:Wednesday, September 8, 2021 9:15 PM
To: Drew Martin <dmartin@everettwa.gov>
Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: City of Everett Permit Services: 1020 39th Street SE (BW2104-001) - First Building Intake Review
CAUTION:This email originated from outside of the organization.
