I have reviewed your review comments in the email below and I would like to
request if you and I could arrange a time to discuss the comments. I have concerns that the scope of your
review is not matching the intended scope of the project/permit application.
I am available tomorrow from 10-1pm, or any day early next week for a phone call. Or if possible a Zoom call
may be helpful.
---------------------------
ELI GRASSLEY, PE
< ESG DESIGN >
206-660-2044
From: Drew Martin <dmartin@everettwa.gov>
Sent:Thursday,April 28, 2022 10:35 AM
To: barberi tyler@vahoo.com
Cc:Adam Hunnicutt<adam @gal lagherconstructionllc.com>; Baylee Eaton-Hill<bavlee@gallagherconstructionllc.com>;
Eli Grassley<engineer@esg-design.com>
Subject: City of Everett Permit Services: 1020 39th Street(BW2104-001) -Second Building Review
Hello,Tyler.
This email follows our discussion yesterday of your project. As we discussed, the drawings appear to be going in the
right direction, but they still have significant deficiencies and errors. I have approved the project for intake at this time
and currently have its status marked as Under Review. I will keep it on my desk until next Friday (05/06/2022) in the
event that the design team can resolve all comments by that time. If the comments cannot be resolve by that time, I will
issue a formal correction letter.
If you feel a meeting with the entire desi n team is needed to discuss further, please let me know ASAP so we can get
this scheduled and move the project forward. I am available today and tomorrow with sufficient notice.
I can review an advance set of electronic drawings. Please note this is not our standard procedure, and should not be
used by the design team as a back-and-forth exercise to fix the drawings. The intent is for the design team to fix all
issues and provide an electronic set for review and verification prior to printing. If l see any remaining issues, I'll notify
them so they can address.
The following comments have been abbreviated for expediency and do not provide exhaustive direction. The design
team is responsible expand upon these as necessary to fix all omissions in the construction drawings.
1. The drawings only include an existing floor plan on Sheet A4 that generally indicates all work is existing. Per
commend below, there are modifications and missing work. It is recommended that separated existing and
proposed floor plans be provided, showing the demolition and new work, respectively.
2. The floor plan on Sheet A4 shows all walls as existing. However, work to be shown includes but is not limited:
a. Expanding the master bedroom.
b. Creating a new opening between the living room and foyer.
c. Changing bathroom fixtures.
d. Expanding Bedroom 2 on the existing deck
2
