Matrix Spike cooler (2x10L cubitainers with ice) = 65 lbs, List = $934.

(1) Analysis base price includes use of one Envirochek HV filter (provided by Everett) for sample
concentration (in field or lab), IMS purification of one subsample, and staining and microscopic
examination of one slide.
(2) Sub-samples - If the pellet after elution and centrifugation is >0.5mL, additional subsamples may
be processed to examine additional sample volume. For LT2 compliance, the EPA requires
analysis of up to 3 additional sub-samples per sample (which equates to 2.0mL of packed pellet
concentrate per sample), or the equivalent of 10L or the volume that can be filtered using two
approved filters prior to plugging, whichever come first. Sources with excess particulate matter
typically generate a higher percentage of samples requiring additional slides – you know your
water, budgeting for subsamples is prudent.
(3) On rare occasions, highly turbid waters may clog the filter (in the field or the lab) and a second
filter is required to achieve the required LT2 sample volume. Surcharge includes extra filter and
processing.
(4) One Matrix Spike (MS) is required at a frequency of at least 1 every 20 samples per site.
(5) Cost for filters (spares or otherwise) requested from ASI.
