General Requirements. Weather protectfon, such as an awning, shall be required on any building 7 <br />facade frontfng a public street as set forth in Table 12-4 9-5. 8 <br />Figure 12-5 9-12: Weather Protection Standards 9 <br /> 10 <br />B. Design Requirements. 11 <br />1. Weather protectfon shall be supported by the building if projected over public sidewalks. 12 <br />2. All frames and supports must be made of metal or similar rigid material. Frames and 13 <br />supports made of wood are allowed within the UR3 and UR4 zones. Other materials are 14 <br />prohibited unless approved by the planning director. 15 <br />3. The entfre width of the main entrance to a building shall incorporate weather protectfon. 16 <br />C. Recessed entries with weather protectfon may count towards meetfng the standards in Table 12-4 9-17 <br />5above. 18 <br />19.09.250 12.130 BUILDING TRANSPARENCY 19 <br />Transparent windows or doors, on the ground floor and facing the street, are required as set forth in 20 <br />Table 12-4 9-5 below; provided, however, that these standards do not apply to structured parking. 21 <br />Transparency measurements are done on the ground floor of the street facade, between two and ten 22 <br />feet above grade. See Figure 12-6 9-13 for how this is measured. 23
