The rear side of the building visible from the adjacent residentfally zoned property shall be 1 <br />given architectural treatment using two or more of the following: 2 <br />a. Visible rooflines; 3 <br />b. Windows; 4 <br />c. Secondary entrances; 5 <br />d. Balconies; 6 <br />e. Use of brick and/or stone on at least ten percent of the building facade that faces the 7 <br />alley; or 8 <br />f. Awnings. 9 <br />19.09.300 12.200 BUILDING DESIGN STANDARDS APPLICABLE TO THE LI2 AND HI ZONES. 10 <br />A. Applicability. The following standards apply to development of propertfes located within the LI2 and 11 <br />HI zones. For propertfes located within the airport/port/navy compatfbility overlay zone, see Chapter 12 <br />19.17 EMC for additfonal use and development standards. For propertfes located within shoreline 13 <br />jurisdictfon, see the city’s shoreline master program for additfonal permitting requirements. The design 14 <br />standards in this sectfon apply when any of the following criteria are met. These standards are applicable 15 <br />only to the facade or portfon(s) of the building meetfng any of the following criteria: 16 <br />1. The proposed building(s) faces, abuts and is visible from a designated gateway corridor street 17 <br />and is located within four hundred feet of a gateway corridor street. See Map 12 9-1; 18 <br />2. The proposed building(s) faces, or abuts and is visible from a residentfally zoned property; or 19 <br />3. The proposed building(s) abuts a shoreline public access trail, or is visible from publicly 20 <br />accessible navigable waters (e.g., Port Gardner Bay, Snohomish River). 21 <br />Map 12 9-1: Gateway Corridors 22 <br /> 23 <br />B.
