EVERETT 2044 <br />DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS <br /> <br />6/17/2025 <br />DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS <br />Page 40 <br />“Auto fuel sales” means a business selling gasoline, diesel and other fuel products such as propane. This 1 <br />includes convenience stores selling food and related items. 2 <br />“Automobile and truck service, heavy” means a business where vehicle repair and maintenance of heavy 3 <br />trucks over eighteen thousand pounds and other large equipment is performed. 4 <br />“Automobile and truck service, light” means a business where vehicle repair and maintenance, cleaning 5 <br />and alteratfons are performed. Cleaning includes automatfc and self-service washing, vacuuming and 6 <br />detailing. 7 <br />“Automobile dismantling/recycling” means the disassembly of vehicles, together with sortfng, cleaning 8 <br />and storage of spare parts and recyclable materials, such as scrap metals. 9 <br />“Automobile drive-through facility” means all equipment and improvements used to allow customers to 10 <br />be served from within their vehicles. This includes order placing statfons, speakers, service windows, 11 <br />signs, driveways and holding lanes. 12 <br />“Automobile, light truck or RV sales or rental” means a business where new or used cars, light trucks and 13 <br />recreatfonal vehicles are displayed for sale, rent or lease, typically outdoors on a paved parking lot. This 14 <br />use may include a showroom and/or service facility. 15 <br />“Birthing center” or “childbirth center” means any health facility, not part of a hospital or in a hospital, 16 <br />that provides facilitfes and staff to support a birth service to low-risk maternity clients. 17 <br />“Body repair and paintfng” means a business that includes repair of damaged vehicles and paintfng or 18 <br />repaintfng. 19 <br />“Casino, mini” means a business which provides gambling and gaming as a primary source of its revenue, 20 <br />which may include food and beverage sales for consumptfon on the premises as a secondary part of its 21 <br />business actfvity. 22 <br />“Clinic” means a building or portfon of a building designed and used for the medical, dental or surgical 23 <br />diagnosis or treatment of patfents under the care of doctors. 24 <br />“Commercial parking” means a parking lot or parking garage that is designed, used or intended to be 25 <br />used for the parking of motor vehicles outside the street right-of-way. Commercial parking areas are 26 <br />used, rented or leased to the general public, customers or residents of development, or are provided as 27 <br />public parking for persons commutfng to another locatfon, such as a park-and-ride lot. This use does not 28 <br />include park and rides or parking lots or garages which are constructed as required for, or accessory to, 29 <br />another permitted use. 30 <br />“Conventfon center” means a large civic building or group of buildings designed for conventfons, 31 <br />industrial shows, and the like, having large exhibit areas and often including conference rooms, hotel 32 <br />accommodatfons, restaurants, and other facilitfes. 33 <br />“Day care center, commercial” means a day care facility for more than twelve children or adults. 34 <br />“Entertainment and recreatfon, enclosed” means an entertainment or recreatfon facility under private 35 <br />ownership and operated by a for-profit or nonprofit organizatfon, and providing one or more of the 36 <br />following types of entertainment actfvitfes: cinemas, billiard parlors, nightclubs, coin-operated arcades, 37
