<br />“Social services” means a use operated by a public agency, nonprofit, or other organizatfons of a 1
<br />charitable nature generally providing a service to people of the community. Staff may be located 2
<br />primarily on site or may be based off site and provide regular hours or visits on site. Generally, they 3
<br />provide the service on the site or have employees at the site on a regular basis. The service is ongoing, 4
<br />not just for special events. Examples include services for behavioral health, counseling, therapy, drug and 5
<br />alcohol rehabilitatfon, and prepared meal distributfon. This definitfon does not include schools, hospitals, 6
<br />clinics, day cares, food banks, or residentfal uses. 7
<br />“Storage, commercial” means a building or buildings containing separate storage spaces of a limited size 8
<br />leased or rented on an individual basis, which do not include warehouses or loading docks. Where 9
<br />allowed, commercial storage may also include separate storage space located outside of buildings, or 10
<br />under a roof only, such as boat or RV storage, and is of a limited size leased or rented on an individual 11
<br />basis. 12
<br />“Veterinary clinic” means a facility rendering surgical and medical treatment to animals, which may 13
<br />include overnight accommodatfons for purposes of recovery. For the purpose of these regulatfons, small 14
<br />animals shall be deemed to be ordinary household pets, excluding horses, donkeys, or other such 15
<br />animals not normally housed or cared for entfrely within the confines of a residence. 16
<br />19.04.070, USE DEFINITIONS, INDUSTRIAL 17
<br />This sectfon defines uses set forth in Table 5-3 in EMC 19.05.100. 18
<br />“Aggregates extractfon and related manufacturing” means the mining and processing of sand and gravel 19
<br />resources and closely related manufacturing such as concrete or asphalt batch plants, manufacturing of 20
<br />products using concrete or aggregate materials, storage and transport of mined or excavated materials, 21
<br />and other closely related uses accessory to aggregate extractfon actfvitfes. 22
<br />“Aircraft assembly” means the assembly of aircraft components into finished aircraft or the repair, 23
<br />service or maintenance of aircraft, including engine testfng, test flights, and major overhaul or 24
<br />rebuilding. 25
<br />“Distributfon center” means a building designed to store products for retailers and wholesalers, to be 26
<br />redistributed to another locatfon or to customers. 27
<br />“Freight terminal” means a transportatfon facility furnishing services incidental to air, motor freight, and 28
<br />rail transportatfon. Examples of these facilitfes include: freight forwarding services; freight terminal 29
<br />facilitfes; joint terminal and service facilitfes; overnight mail processing facilitfes; packing, cratfng, 30
<br />inspectfon and weighing services; postal service bulk mailing distributfon centers; transportatfon 31
<br />arrangement services; trucking facilitfes, including transfer and storage. 32
<br />“Heavy industrial, manufacturing, processing, fabricatfon or assembly” means uses that generate 33
<br />potentfally noxious or objectfonable impacts such as noise, smoke, dust, vibratfon, odor, or concussion, 34
<br />the use or outdoor storage of heavy equipment, or outdoor storage of large quantftfes of bulk materials. 35
<br />“Heliport” means an area of land, water, or structural surface designed, used, or intended to be used for 36
<br />landing or takeoff of passengers or cargo from or by helicopters, plus accessory buildings and uses. 37
