Acre Short Plat Stormwater Site Plan
SECTION 3 - SITE DEVELOPMENT PLAN w/ ON-SITE STORMWATER
MANAGEMENT
Per MR #5, on-site stormwater management is required to infiltrate, retain, and disperse stormwater
runoff on-site to the maximum extent feasible without causing flooding or erosion impacts. Chapter 12,
Volume III of the 2010 COESWMM outlines the on-site stormwater management strategies and Best
Management Practices (BMPs) that must be implemented, where feasible, in order to meet MR#5. The
potential BMPs that were evaluated for this project include:
• Vegetation Protection Areas
• Soil Amendments, Quality and Depth
• Onsite Infiltration Areas
• Raingardens
• Downspout Dispersion Systems
• Concentrated Flow Dispersion
• Sheet Flow Dispersion
Due to the site layout and topography, approximately 0.24 acres of the 0,64-acre property will not be
disturbed and will remain as forested.Amended soils will be provided in disturbed pervious areas.
Per the Geotechnical Report (Appendix A), infiltration is not a practical option due to the extent of non-
native fill materials over much of the site. Also, infiltration is not viable on a steep slope site such as this one.
Bioretention facilities are not feasible due to the lack of open space, inability to infiltrate, and the
presence of steep slopes.
Dispersion systems are not viable due to the site topography and the inability to meet required minimum
flow path lengths.
The developed site conditions and proposed storm drainage facilities are described in more detail in
Section 8 —Off-Site Analysis.
i
E
i
E
i
f
October 15, 2021
Page 6
