F N
West side of the Dawson Residence— Settlement Greatest at the NW Corner
I recommend that the settled north side wall of the garage shown above and the northwest
corner of the home be supported by a total of eleven (11) helical piers and brackets with four at
the north side wall of the garage, two at the rear wall and three more at the rear wall of the
adjacent house. There will also be one pier at the northeast corner of the home adjacent to the
front corner of the garage shown below and one inside the garage under the center floor
support beam.
These helical piers with likely use the 4036 low profile footing brackets or possibly the modified
standard 4038 brackets depending on how deep the bottom of the footing is from grade. There
will also be sections of L6x6 placed on top of the foundation support brackets to increase the lift
under the walls. Once the piers are installed the foundation should be lifted as much as
practical to permanently stabilize this portion of the home and enough to allow the garage door
to function properly.
xr
View of the Cracked Concrete Wall at the Northeast Corner of the Home
