September 3, 2025 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />City Attorney David Hall provided updates on the election cases in Superior Court and requested <br />a 5-minute executive session, pursuant to RCW 42.30.110 (1)(i) regarding opioid settlements with <br />Council action to follow. He also provided kudos to the City of Everett elected officials, past and <br />present, for championing the lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies for the opioid crisis. <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEMS: <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Bader, to approve the <br />following consent items: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - CLAIMS <br /> <br />To adopt Resolution No. 8207 authorizing claims against the City of Everett in the amount of <br />$1,339,361.83 for the period ending August 16, 2025, through August 22, 2025. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT – EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE GRANT <br /> <br />To authorize staff to apply for, and if awarded, authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary and <br />required documents to accept the Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount <br />of $53,150. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT AMENDED – EVERETT STATION OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />To authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment 1 of the Everett Station Operations and <br />Maintenance Agreement between Sound Transit and the City of Everett (GA 0127-20). <br /> <br />AGREEMENT – INDIGENT DEFENSE SERVICES <br /> <br />To authorize the Mayor to sign the Agreement for Indigent Defense Services (RALJ Public <br />Defender), with Snohomish County Public Defender Association. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION – 2017 FORD F550, J1061, SURPLUS <br /> <br />To adopt Resolution No. 8208 declaring a 2017 Ford F550 with Altec AT40G Hybrid Electric <br />Manlift Bucket, J0161, surplus and authorize its sale at public auction. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except President Schwab who was excused. <br />
