City of Everett 01 11 00 - 3 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525 <br /> <br />01 11 00 - 3 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />Category 2: Sensitive information <br />Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law. <br />4. Area 20 Combined Sewer Debris Removal <br />a. Modifications to Area 20 include structural, mechanical, electrical, <br />instrumentation and controls, and architectural improvements needed <br />to convert the existing four chamber neutralization basin into a debris <br />removal facility. Discipline specific improvements include the following: <br />1) Structural <br />a) Select demolition of channel walls, baffling, and topping slab to <br />accommodate construction of combined sewer influent channels <br />and process equipment. <br />b) Basin infill for the formation of parallel screen channels and a <br />bypass channel. <br />c) Construction of two parallel combined sewer influent channels <br />and one bypass channel. Channel construction includes <br />structural features for the installation of parallel bar screens, a <br />belt conveyor system, odor control duct work, gates, and weirs. <br />d) Installation of new removable fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) <br />paneling and hatches overtop of the combined sewer influent <br />channels. <br />e) Construction of a debris chute within the existing Area 20 <br />structure for temporary storage of solids removed from the <br />screening process. <br />f) Replacement of the existing floor mounted guard rail around the <br />perimeter of the existing neutralization basin structure. The <br />existing guard rail will be replaced with a wall mounted guardrail <br />system. <br />1. The existing guardrails throughout the site are known to be <br />coated with lead-based paint. Replacement of the existing <br />guardrails within Area 20 will require accommodations for <br />removal and disposal of hazardous materials. See Terracon <br />Consultants, Inc. Regulated Building Materials Assessment <br />report provided in Volume 7 Attachment F. <br />2) Mechanical <br />a) Installation of bar screens, a belt and conveyor system, and <br />weirs within the new combined sewer influent channels. <br />b) Installation of three stainless steel isolation slide gates. <br />c) Installation of odor control system including duct work, fans, <br />carbon adsorber vessel, and foul air mist eliminator. <br />3) Electrical <br />a) Power feed and electrical infrastructure for bar screens and belt <br />conveyor. <br />b) Power feed and electrical infrastructure for odor control system. <br />c) Power feed and electrical infrastructure for electrically actuated <br />slide gates. <br />d) VFDs for the screening equipment will be installed locally within <br />Area 20.
