City of Everett 01 11 00 - 5 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525 <br /> <br />01 11 00 - 5 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />Category 2: Sensitive information <br />Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law. <br />6) Building Mechanical <br />a) Installation of unit heaters and ventilation system for humidity <br />control within the basement of the structure. <br />7) Civil <br />a) Connection of water service main <br /> <br />6. Area 30 Primary Combined Sewer Storage <br />a. Improvements within the Area 30 Primary Storage Basins includes <br />work from the following disciplines – structural, process mechanical, <br />electrical, and instrumentation and controls. <br />1) Structural <br />a) Infilling primary storage cells 1 through 6 with lightweight cellular <br />concrete fill for re-sloping the floors and construction of a drain <br />sump. <br />b) Installation of structural features along the outer walls of primary <br />storage cells 1 through 6 to accommodate mechanical flushing <br />gates. These features include a channel sump for storage of <br />flush water and construction of a sloped stem wall to form a <br />channel for flushing waves. <br />c) Re-sloping of primary storage cells 7 through 15. Installation of <br />a 16-inch diameter drainpipe within an existing drain channel <br />located in primary storage cells 7 through 15. <br />d) Installation of new ladders and fall protection systems. <br />e) Repair and selective replacement of the existing guard rails. <br />f) Selective demolition including saw cutting new openings within <br />the existing primary storage baffle walls. <br />g) Construction of a flushing water sump along the northern wall of <br />the primary storage cells. This sump will be used for flush water <br />collection and conveyance and connect to both a new and <br />existing buried pipelines. <br />h) Coating internal walls of basins as detailed on drawings, in <br />Section 09 90 00, Volume 7 Attachment D. <br />2) Mechanical <br />a) Routing and installation of process water piping for conveyance <br />of plant water (2W) to flushing gates (item b) and water cannons <br />(item c). <br />b) Installation of 12 mechanical flushing gates within primary <br />storage cells 1 through 6. These flushing gates are hydraulically <br />actuated and provide the controlled release of flush water for <br />scouring residual materials from the primary storage cells. The <br />hydraulic power units that control the flushing gates are to be <br />installed in Area 70.
