City of Everett 01 11 00 - 6
Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525

01 11 00 - 6 SUMMARY OF WORK
Category 2: Sensitive information
Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law.
c) Installation of 24 pedestal mounted pressurized water cannons
along the top deck of primary storage cells 7 through 15. These
water cannons will be connected to the plant water system (item
a) and used for wash down of this area following a combined
sewer storage event.
d) Installation of electrically actuated slide gates for storage cell
isolation and flushing water control.
3) Electrical
a) Routing power for instrumentation and controls and electrically
actuated slide gates.
4) Instrumentation and Controls
a) Installation and integration of the following Area 30
instruments/equipment into the site control system.
1. Radar level
2. Slide gate actuators
b) Integration of vendor supplied instruments and controls for
flushing gates into the site control system.
c) Fabrication, programming, testing, and installation of custom
control panels, including Operator Interface Terminal (OIT)
panel.
7. Area 35 Stormwater Equalization
a. Work within Area 35 includes modifications needed for converting the
existing secondary clarifier structure into an equalization basin for
temporary storage of untreated stormwater. Flow is routed to the Area
35 equalization basin via a 48-inch diameter stormwater pipe that
passes through the Area 40 Stormwater Diversion Structure.
Conversion of the existing clarifier into an equalization basin includes
structural, process mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and
controls related work.
1) Structural
a) Construction of a walkway around the northern perimeter of the
equalization basin. This walkway includes a bridge connecting
Areas 30 and 35.
b) Installation of an external stairway and platform along the
southwestern side of the basin. This stairway and platform will
provide access to a water cannon for basin washdown (see
process mechanical improvements).
c) Selective demolition at the existing clarifier scum box for
connection of two 36-inch diameter stormwater conveyance
lines.
d) Selective demolition of the eastern wall of the scum box/basin
wall to create an opening connecting the scum box to the
equalization tank.
