City of Everett 01 11 00 - 7
Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525

01 11 00 - 7 SUMMARY OF WORK
Category 2: Sensitive information
Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law.
2) Process Mechanical
a) Routing and installation of 4-inch diameter process water piping
for conveyance of plant water (2W) to water cannons (item b).
b) Installation of three pedestal mounted pressurized water
cannons around the perimeter of the Area 35 basin.
3) Electrical
a) Routing power for proposed instrumentation.
4) Instrumentation and Controls
a) Installation and integration of the following Area 30 instrument
types into the site control system.
1. Radar level
2. Level float switches

8. Area 40 Stormwater Diversion and Treatment
a. Area 40 improvements include two primary features 1 – stormwater
diversion structure and 2 - stormwater treatment system. The work
associated with each of these items is outlined in Sections 1 and 2
below.
1) Project work at the stormwater diversion structure includes
converting the existing 40-foot diameter gravity thickener to an
above grade vault for housing 48-inch and 18-inch diameter
stormwater piping. These modifications include structural, process
mechanical, instrumentation and controls, and site civil work.
a) Structural
1. Structural work includes selective demolition of the gravity
thickener to create penetrations for the 48-inch diameter and
18-inch diameter stormwater pipes to pass through the
thickener walls. Additional demolition is required to create an
opening in the structure for a raised stairway providing
access to the vault.
2. Installation of two new pile supports within the diversion
structure.
3. Installation of pipe supports for the 48-inch and 18-inch
diameter stormwater pipelines.
4. Installation of stairways for vault ingress and egress and
within the vault for accessing all areas within the structure.
5. Modification of the diversion structure drain by raising the
existing pipe to the new floor level, filling the center sump
with concrete, and connecting the existing drainpipe to the
new site stormwater drain.
6. Connecting the existing drain (#4 above) to the site storm
drain system and connecting the existing scum box drain to
the site storm drain system.
