Port Gardner Storage Facility - Facility Construction Package Bypassing and Dewatering <br />Project No. 157889 33 01 30.50 - 7 <br /> <br />enter the time of the inspections and the condition of the piping and the name of the <br />inspector into the log for review by the Construction Manager. <br />3.03 DAMAGES <br />A. The Contractor shall repair, without cost to the owner, any damage that may result from <br />his negligence, inadequate or improper installation, maintenance and operation of <br />bypassing system, including mechanical or electrical failures. <br />B. Cleanup shall be in accordance with the accepted Emergency Cleanup Plan. <br />3.04 FULL SCALE DEMONSTRATION <br />A. For each diversion location determined by the Project Representative perform a <br />demonstration of the proposed Sewer Diversion system before the scheduled date of the <br />actual need for Sewer Diversion. Demonstrate that the proposed methods of Sewer <br />Diversion are fully functional and reliable and capable of continuously diverting all flow to <br />the downstream system. <br />B. Notify the Project Representative at least 7 days in advance of the date and time of the <br />demonstration. <br />C. Demonstration: <br />1. Duration: 4 hours between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am Monday through Friday. Do not <br />conduct the demonstration on a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday. <br />2. Following 2 hours of normal operation conduct a simulated pump failure to <br />demonstrate operation of standby equipment. <br />D. The full-scale demonstration shall be deemed to have failed if at any time during the <br />demonstration all wastewater flows are not accommodated through the Sewer Diversion <br />system or the upstream sewage levels cannot be maintained. <br />E. If the full-scale demonstration fails determine and correct the deficiencies that caused <br />the demonstration to fail and conduct another full-scale Demonstration. Full scale <br />Demonstrations shall be performed until all wastewater flow is accommodated for the <br />entire 4-hour time of the Demonstration. <br />F. Do not begin diverting sewage until a successful full-scale demonstration has been <br />completed. <br />END OF SECTION <br />
