City of Everett 01 12 16 - 2 <br />Port Gardner Storage Facility - Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525 <br /> <br /> <br />01 12 16 - 2 WORK SEQUENCE <br />1.3 BYPASSING <br />A. Bypassing of sewerage from Naval Station Everett may be required in order to perform <br />new construction. Sanitary sewer flow from the Naval Station Everett is approximately 15 <br />gallons per minute. The Contractor shall provide uninterrupted sewerage service from <br />the Naval Station Everett to Lift Station 6 or Lift Station 7 until commissioning and <br />cutover to Lift Station 46. <br />1.4 DEWATERING <br />A. Dewatering activities whether for pipelines, basins, excavations, or stormwater <br />management shall be coordinated with the City. The Contractor shall comply with the <br />Discharge Authorization Request permit, for which an application is provided in Section <br />01 99 90 (Industrial Discharge Approval Request Form), for discharge to the City sewer. <br />The Contractor shall comply with the Construction Stormwater General NPDES Permit <br />and Companion Order for discharge to the Deepwater Outfall 100. <br />B. The City is applying for the Construction Storm Water General NPDES Permit with <br />respect to its companion order for dewatering to allow discharge directly to the <br />Deepwater Outfall 100 32-inch HDPE pipe through provided flow introduction points (as <br />shown on EXHIBIT A – SECTION 01 12 16). The permit for a discharge to the Deep <br />Water Outfall 100 is anticipated to be available by winter 2025. <br />C. Refer to EXHIBIT A – SECTION 01 12 16 SITE STORMWATER, DEWATERING & <br />SEWERAGE MANAGEMENT SEQUENCING AND CONSTRAINTS for other limitations <br />and possibilities for dewatering water management and treatment. <br />D. Refer to Section 31 23 19 for groundwater management related to dewatering activities, <br />including extraction of groundwater and groundwater treatment requirements. <br />1.5 DEFINITIONS <br />E. Method of Procedure (MOP): A detailed plan prepared and submitted by the Contractor <br />to request system shutdowns, utility tie-ins, and demolition work in areas that may result <br />in unanticipated outages, or flow bypass to accommodate execution of the Work. <br />1.6 SUBMITTAL <br />A. In accordance with Section 01 33 00, for each project Area, the Contractor shall submit a <br />detailed MOP demolition plan and time schedule that will make it necessary to remove <br />pipelines, tributary flows, electrical circuits, equipment, instrumentation, or structural <br />elements. The plan shall be coordinated with the construction schedule specified in the <br />General Conditions of the Contract Documents and shall meet the restrictions and <br />conditions specified in this section. <br />1. Systems or individual equipment items shall be isolated, dewatered, <br />decommissioned, deenergized, or depressurized in accordance with the detailed <br />outage plan and schedule.
