Section 26 29 23-1.01.C does not list the VFD’s for the screens. <br />Is the intent for these VFD’s to be furnished by the screen manufacturer? <br />The VFDs associated with the Influent Screens will be furnished by the <br />manufacturer as part of the local control panel provided with the screens. See <br />Specification. <br />Q193 - The large shored cells for area 46 and 60 include structures and piping. Section <br />31 23 00-2.04 calls for trench backfill to be lightweight material. Structural fill for these <br />cells is per 2.06 Structural Fill. What material are the large cells to be backfilled with <br />when backfilling areas of structures and pipe in the same zone? <br />Use structural fill as described in Specification 31 23 00 paragraph 2.06.A in all <br />areas within the large cells except for the zone above pipes. Zones above pipes <br />may be backfilled with material conforming to Specification 31 23 00 paragraph <br />2.06.B. Pipe bedding and pipe zone materials must conform to Specification 31 23 <br />00, paragraphs 2.02 and 2.03, respectively. <br />Q194 - Please confirm over-excavation as noted in Section 31-23-00-3.10.D.2 where <br />not shown on the drawings or specifically specified at certain locations, will be paid as <br />extra work. <br />Bidder to reference geologic cross sections provided in Figures 3A and 3B of the <br />May 2025 Geotechnical Report Port Gardner Wet Weather Design for estimated <br />quantities of over excavation that will be required. Any differing site condition <br />encountered under the work will be handled under the Differing Site Conditions <br />requirements outlined in 00 72 00 General Conditions Section 11. <br />Q195 - Please confirm if a bidder is allowed to submit a prime bid and also quote the <br />field of primes as a subcontractor under the requirements outlined in Section 1-02.13 of <br />the ITB. <br />Instructions to bidders 00 21 13 does not prohibit a bidder from submitting a <br />prime bid and also being listed as a subcontractor on another prime bid as long <br />as the bidding structure complies with 1-02.13.j which prohibits more than one <br />proposal being submitted for the same project from a Bidder under the same or <br />different names. <br />Q196 - Would the engineer consider using corrosion resistant Fiberglass material? <br />Perry Fiberglass Products, Inc. be added as a named supplier? <br />Per Section 00 72 00, Section 8.5, 1st paragraph, 2nd sentence, only the <br />Contractor may request substitutions. Per Section 01 25 00, Paragraph 1.7.C, <br />requests for substitutions will not be considered during the bid period.
