<br />Pipe strap assembly supporting vertical runs of pipe, not including
<br />those at thrust support locations, but including drilled holes, epoxy
<br />resin, pipe straps welded to pipe shields, anchor bolts, nuts, and
<br />washers.

<br />Note pipe straps welded to pipe shields at pipe strap assemblies supporting vertical runs of
<br />pipe are larger than pipe straps at thrust support locations. See Plans.
<br />The quantities are listed only for the convenience of the Contractor in determining the volume of
<br />work involved and are not guaranteed to be accurate. The prospective bidders shall verify these
<br />quantities before submitting a bid. No adjustments other than for accepted changes will be made
<br />in the lump sum Contract price for “Utility Supports on Bridge 645W” even though the actual
<br />quantities required may deviate from those listed.

<br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot (LF)
<br />Per linear foot pipe measurement shall be based on the slope distance from point to point. The
<br />point of beginning or ending of measurement in any particular run of pipe shall be the vertical
<br />intersection of the centerline of the pipe measured with the centerline of the intersection pipe, or
<br />with the beginning or ending of any new linear length of valves or couplings contained within the
<br />measured length. At changes in pipe size connected by a reducer or a tee, the point of
<br />measurement shall include the length of the reducer or the tee.
<br />The unit contract price for Ductile Iron Pipe For Watermain, 12-Inch, shall constitute full
<br />compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install the pipe,
<br />restrained joints (where shown on the Plans or as required by the Standard Specifications and
<br />Special Provisions), and all fittings, including tees, crosses, reducers, couplings, and sleeves
<br />required for complete installation along the run of each pipe size, as shown on the Plans and
<br />specified herein, and additionally, shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
<br />1.Removal of structures or obstructions not specifically covered under other Bid Items. This shall
<br />include, but not be limited to, removal and disposal of the existing asphalt or concrete
<br />pavement, sidewalk, curb, thrust blocks, miscellaneous landscaping, and sod as indicated on
<br />the Plans.
<br />2.Utility or light pole holding in conformance with the requirements of the applicable utility
<br />including, if necessary, arranging for the utility to hold poles and paying the associated fees.
<br />3.Trench excavation and dewatering, installation of pipe, furnishing, placing, and compacting
<br />sand backfill for pipe bedding per Section 9-03.22, furnishing, placing, and compacting trench
<br />backfill and placing and compacting imported backfill material. No extra payment shall be
<br />made for removing, loading, hauling, and disposing of displaced and unsuitable material.
<br />4.Maintenance, restoration, and/or relocation, if required, of existing culverts, storm drainage
<br />pipe, other utilities and structures affected by construction that are to remain.
<br />5.Temporary and permanent thrust blocking and dead man blocks, and temporary and
<br />permanent restraint systems.
<br />6.Ethafoam pads or sand backfill between watermain and other pipes.
<br />7.Maintenance of existing watermain and provisions for interim water service.
<br />8.Pressure and purity testing of all watermains and shall include providing temporary blow-offs,
<br />backflow prevention, air gap apparatus, flushing, and disinfecting as necessary for testing in
<br />accordance with 7-09.3(24) of these Special Provisions and COE Standard Drawing No. 526.
