CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS Water Main Replacement “Y” – Ph 2 Div B – BID ITEM DESCRIPTIONS Work Order No. UP 3814 SP-27 Category 2: Sensitive information Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law. 9.Abandonment of existing watermains as shown on the Plans, including cutting, draining water and properly disposing, and plugging pipe at each end with a minimum of 2-feet of Commercial concrete or CDF. Include the concrete or CDF work with this work with no direct compensation being made. Abandon existing mains in place where possible. Include cost of removal, hauling, and disposal of existing main with these Bid items when abandoning in place is not possible. Include closing existing valves, and plugging where noted, to be abandoned and removing the lids and valve boxes. 10.Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the Force Account item. Based on the unit price per lineal foot for Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, ___-inch, partial payments will be made as follows: •Upon pipe installation – 70% of bid price •Upon successful testing and connection and service transfer – 25% of bid price •Upon completion of permanent patch – 5% of bid price. Class 52 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 12-Inch Pre-insulated in 18-Inch Steel Casing on Existing Bridge Structure Specification Section 7-09 Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot (LF) Per linear foot pipe measurement shall be along the pipe centerline for the length of 12-Inch Pre- insulated in w/ 18-Inch Steel Casing pipe installed. The unit contract price for Ductile Iron Pipe For Watermain, 12-Inch Pre-insulated in 18-Inch Steel Casing, on Existing Bridge Structure, shall constitute full compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install the pre-insulated pipe in casing, including joint closure sleeves, required for complete the installation in accordance with the details and these Special Provisions where indicated in the plans along on the underside of the existing bridge and down the bridge structure column/abutment to the ground at each end. Additionally, shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1.Maintenance of existing watermain and provisions for interim water service. 2.Pressure and purity testing of all watermains and shall include providing temporary blow-offs, backflow prevention, air gap apparatus, flushing, and disinfecting as necessary for testing in accordance with 7-09.3(24) of these Special Provisions and COE Standard Drawing No. 526. 3.Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the Force Account item. Based on the unit price per lineal foot for Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 12- Inch Pre-insulated in 18-Inch Steel Casing, on Existing Bridge Structure, partial payments will be made as follows: •Upon pipe installation – 70% of bid price •Upon successful testing and connection and service transfer – 30% of bid price October 2025
