CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br />Water Main Replacement “Y” – Ph 2 Div B – BID ITEM DESCRIPTIONS <br />Work Order No. UP 3814 SP-28 <br />Category 2: Sensitive information <br />Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law. <br /> Class 52 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 12-Inch, on Existing Bridge Structure <br />Specification Section 7-09 <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot (LF) <br />Measurement for Class 52 Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 12-Inch on Existing Bridge Structure <br />shall be by the linear foot as measured along the pipe centerline, inclusive of Tees and Bends for <br />the linear foot of pipe installed. <br />The unit contract price for this bid item shall constitute full compensation for all labor, materials, <br />tools and equipment necessary to furnish and install 12-inch ductile iron water line pipe, including <br />Tees and Bends, along on the underside of the existing bridge where specified in the plans and <br />accordance with section 7-09 of these Special Provisions. Additionally, shall include, but not be <br />limited to, the following: <br />1.Maintenance of existing watermain and provisions for interim water service. <br />2.Pressure and purity testing of all watermains and shall include providing temporary blow-offs, <br />backflow prevention, air gap apparatus, flushing, and disinfecting as necessary for testing in <br />accordance with 7-09.3(24) of these Special Provisions and COE Standard Drawing No. 526. <br />3.Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the Force <br />Account item. <br />4.Furnish and installing insulation with jacketing around the installed 12-inch ductile iron water <br />line pipe on existing bridge structure, inclusive of Tees and Bends. <br />Based on the unit price per lineal foot for Ductile Iron Pipe for Watermain, 12- Inch, on Existing <br />Bridge Structure, partial payments will be made as follows: <br />•Upon pipe installation – 70% of bid price <br />•Upon successful testing and connection and service transfer – 30% of bid price <br /> Flexible Expansion Joint, 12-Inch <br />Specification Section 7-09 <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Each (EA) <br />The unit contract price for Flexible Expansion Joint shall constitute full compensation for all labor, <br />materials, tools and equipment necessary and incidental to furnish and install flexible expansion <br />joint complete in place on the watermain; flushing and disinfecting; cleanup; and any additional <br />work, materials, and equipment required to install the flexible expansion joint assembly, except as <br />included in other unit price bids. <br /> Gate Valve, 8-Inch <br /> Gate Valve, 12-Inch <br />Specification Section 7-12 <br />Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Each (EA) <br />The unit contract price for valves shall constitute full compensation for all labor, materials, tools and <br />equipment necessary and incidental to furnish and install valves complete in place on the <br />watermain, including but not limited to, dewatering; removal and disposal of existing curb and <br />gutter, and sidewalk; excavation, removal, hauling, and disposal of excavated materials; furnishing, <br />jointing, and installing valves and valve boxes with extensions if necessary; installing temporary <br />concrete thrust blocks; restraint systems; painting; flushing and disinfecting; furnishing, installing, <br />compacting, and testing bedding and backfill materials; constructing asphalt concrete pad around <br />October 2025
