<br /> <br /> <br />EVERETT POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br />PAGE 23 <br /> <br />ARTICLE 14 - CLOTHING ALLOWANCE <br /> <br /> <br />14.1 General. <br /> <br />14.1.1 The Police Department will initially purchase and thereafter replace the following <br />items of clothing: <br /> <br />Class B working uniforms required under regulations. Replacement(s) <br />will be made at the request of the Officer to the City, by means of <br />requisition to the property officer. Items that may be furnished, subject to <br />funding and approval of the Chief, includes helmets, hard equipment and <br />any specialized police equipment, including, but not limited to, exterior <br />vest carriers, optics, mounted lights, specialized holsters, or clothing as <br />required by the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />When required, Class A dress uniforms will be furnished by the City. <br /> <br />14.1.2 Plainclothes officers, and officers in ACT and VCU will receive $680.00 per <br />calendar year for the purchase of clothing and/or equipment necessary for the <br />performance of the position. This payment will be issued in the second paycheck <br />of the year. Employees transferred to a plainclothes, ACT and VCU assignment <br />after July 1 will receive $340. Examples of equipment include: a flashlight, <br />handcuff case or plainclothes holster. Final approval of equipment will be <br />determined by the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />14.1.3 The City will provide contract cleaning with a local dry-cleaning facility and <br />provide uniform cleaning for Association members. The Chief of Police may set <br />policy as to establish what is considered reasonable use. <br /> <br />14.1.4 Association members will receive $300.00 per calendar year for purchases of <br />uniform shoes and or duty equipment.
