Vertical and Overhead Applications: Repair mortars shall be: <br />1. BASF, MasterEmaco 1500HCR Vertical Overhead <br />2. Sika Corporation, SikaTop 123 Plus <br />3. Approved Equal <br />2.05 CEMENT GROUT <br />A. Cement grout shall be comprised of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, water, <br />and admixtures proportioned and mixed in accordance with this Section. <br />1. Minimum Compressive Strength: 4,500 psi at 28 days. <br />2. Maximum Water Cement Ratio: 0.42 by weight. <br />3. Coarse Aggregate: ASTM C33/C33M, No. 8 size. <br />4. Fine Aggregate: ASTM C33/C33M, approximately 60 percent by weight of total <br />aggregate. <br />5. Air Content: Five percent (plus or minus one percent). <br />6. Minimum Cement Content: 564 pounds per cubic yard. <br />7. Slump for grout fill shall be adjusted to match placing and finishing conditions, and <br />shall not exceed four inches. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A. Examine and accept existing conditions before beginning work. <br />3.02 CEMENTITIOUS NONSHRINK GROUT <br />A. Non-shrink, cementitious, nonmetallic aggregate grout shall be used for column base <br />plates, structural bearing plates, and all locations where the general term “non-shrink <br />grout” is indicated on the Drawings. Use of this grout to support the bearing surfaces of <br />machinery shall be as detailed on the Drawings for specific locations or pieces of <br />equipment. If guidance is not provided in locations noted above, use of non-shrink grout <br />for equipment mounting shall be limited to equipment less than 25 horsepower or 750 <br />pounds. Grout shall be placed and cured in accordance with the manufacturer's <br />instructions. <br />B. Non-shrink cementitious grout shall not be used as a surface patch or topping. Non- <br />shrink cementitious grout must be used in confined applications only. <br />3.03 EPOXY GROUT FOR EQUIPMENT MOUNTING <br />A. Prepare concrete surfaces of equipment pads as indicated in details on the Drawings <br />and as required by the epoxy grout manufacturer. Epoxy grout for equipment mounting <br />shall be placed and cured in accordance with the requirements and in conformance with <br />manufacturer’s recommendations.
