<br />PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Existing Utilities Coordination and Location <br />Project No. 180162 02 01 10 - 4 <br /> <br />1.06 NOTIFICATION AND COORDINATION <br />A. Notify Utility Owner a minimum of 10 days, or as required by the Utility Owner, whichever <br />is greater, prior to potholing or exposing utilities. <br />B. Establish crossing requirements, stand-by requirements, limits to means and methods <br />(e.g., hand-digging), for existing utilities prior to the start of any work. <br />C. Coordinate with other contractors working within the project limits, and property owners <br />as required to perform the Work. <br />D. Allow adequate time in the schedule for completion of the Utility location work and <br />relocation by others where required. <br />E. Where work is performed near other existing utilities, provide support and protect <br />utilities. Protect Utilities in accordance with Section 02 01 20. <br />F. Where work is performed near existing overhead utilities, coordinate work to meet safety <br />requirements, prevent schedule delays or damage to utilities. <br />G. PSE requires a minimum of 5’ separation from gas pipes to shoring. For any shoring less <br />than 5’, PSE requires a PI inspector to be onsite while shoring is being completed. <br />Coordinate with PSE accordingly. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 UTILITY INVESTIGATION REPORTS <br />A. Provide utility investigation summary reports per Article 1.04, C. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. Pothole all utility crossings. <br />1. Submit pothole data/findings to Construction Manager for review prior procuring <br />pipe, fittings, structures, and appurtenances. <br />2. Incorporate findings into the construction documents and performance of Work. <br />B. Connection Points: <br />1. Excavate test pits to field verify the locations, depth of bury, diameter, and pipe <br />material of existing underground utilities at crossings and at tie-in points before <br />ordering materials or commencing excavation. Immediately notify the Construction <br />Manager if conflicts are encountered. <br />2. All connections to existing utilities must be reviewed and accepted by the Utility <br />Owner and connections must meet their current requirements. All connections must <br />be fully restrained.
