PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Demolition and Salvage <br />Project No. 180162 02 41 00 - 1 <br /> <br />SECTION 02 41 00 <br />DEMOLITION AND SALVAGE <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. Section Includes: <br />1. Demolition and removal of buildings or structures. <br />2. Demolition and removal of exposed piping and appurtenances. <br />3. Demolition and removal of buried process piping. <br />4. Photographs showing details of equipment to be demolished. <br />5. Removal and salvage of select equipment. <br />B. Definitions <br />1. Remove: Detach items from existing construction and legally dispose of materials <br />off-site. <br />2. Remove and Salvage: Carefully detach from existing construction, in a manner to <br />prevent damage, and deliver to Construction Manager. <br />3. Remove and Reinstall: Detach items from existing construction, prepare for reuse, <br />and reinstall where indicated. <br />4. Existing to Remain: Existing items of construction that are not to be permanently <br />removed and that are not otherwise indicated to be removed, removed and salvaged, <br />or removed and reinstalled. <br />5. Abandon-In-Place: Render item permanently nonoperational in its existing location, <br />detach from any existing construction and cease to maintain. <br />C. All demolished and removed material becomes the property of the Contractor and shall <br />be removed from the site. All activities that have the potential to contact contaminated <br />soil will be performed under a health and safety plan (HASP) and materials shall be <br />handled, stored and disposed of in accordance with the Project’s Soil and Groundwater <br />Management Plan. <br />D. Portions of this Project are located within the Port of Everett that include the Kimberly- <br />Clark Worldwide MTCA Site and the ExxonMobil/ADC MTCA site, which are listed on the <br />Washington State Department of Ecology’s (ECY) Confirmed and Suspected <br />Contaminated Sites List. <br />1. Excavation, demolition, handling, transport and disposal of all materials are subject <br />to the Soil and Groundwater Management Plans and requirements. <br /> <br />1.02 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A.
