<br /> <br /> <br />PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 UST Removal and Closure <br />Project No. 180162 02 60 00 - 1 <br /> <br />SECTION 02 60 00 <br />UST REMOVAL AND CLOSURE <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />A. It is not known whether any Underground Storage Tanks (UST) and/or associated piping <br />will be encountered at the site. The work covered by this section consists of furnishing all <br />labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the proper removal of any USTs <br />encountered during soil excavation procedures. <br />1.02 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. Licensing and permit requirements for firms conducting UST removals <br />B. Health and safety requirements related to UST removals and excavation of petroleum- <br />contaminated soil <br />C. Excavation and removal of fuel oil and diesel USTs <br />D. Evaluating potential soil contamination during UST removals <br />E. Excavation and stockpiling of contaminated soil <br />F. Treatment/disposal of petroleum-contaminated soil <br />1.03 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A. Section 02 61 00 Removal and Disposal of Contaminated Soils <br />B. Section 31 23 19 Dewatering <br />1.04 LICENSES AND PERMITS <br />A. Contractor and appropriate site personnel responsible for removing USTs under this <br />contract shall be fully licensed and registered with the Washington State Department of <br />Ecology and International Fire Code Institute to perform regulated UST services in <br />accordance with Washington State Administrative Code (WAC) 173-360-600 through <br />173-360-690. Contractor shall be a Washington State licensed UST services provider, <br />and provide a licensed UST decommissioning supervisor on-site during all UST removal <br />activities. <br />B. Contractor shall be responsible for making any necessary notifications and obtaining any <br />permits required by state or local regulatory agencies or fire departments, including but <br />not limited to permanent closure notification for removal of USTs in accordance with <br />Underground Storage Tank Regulations, Chapter 173-360-385 WAC.
