<br />PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Concrete Repair <br />Project No. 180162 03 01 00 - 4 <br /> <br />B. Specialty Concrete Repair Contractor Qualifications: Engage an experienced specialty <br />concrete-repair firm that employs installers and supervisors who are trained and <br />approved by the manufacturer to perform Work of this Section. The firm shall have <br />completed Work similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project <br />and shall demonstrate a record of successful in-service performance. <br />1. Concrete repair Contractor shall have at least 5-years’ experience using product(s) <br />being installed (or similar) and demonstrate a history with projects of similar size and <br />complexity as the Work intended for this Project. <br />a. Provide evidence (certificates or letter) of Contractor training by manufacture. <br />2. Field Supervision: Concrete repair firm shall maintain experienced full-time <br />supervisors on Project site during times that concrete-repair Work is in progress. <br />C. Quality Control Program: Prepare a written plan for concrete repair to systematically <br />demonstrate the ability of selected personnel to properly perform the Work. Include each <br />phase or process, protection of surrounding materials during operations, and control of <br />debris and runoff during the Work. Describe in detail, using outline format: materials, <br />methods, equipment to be used; how environmental conditions will be monitored; <br />testing, and sequence of operations to be used for each phase of Work. <br />D. Provide pH testing (including written documentation) of prepared concrete surface to <br />determine required depth of removal to obtain a pH neutral surface prior to application of <br />repair materials. Reference ASTM D4262. <br />E. A third-party testing agency hired by Contractor shall spot check the pH of prepped <br />surfaces and perform the following test in the mock-up area prior to application of <br />protective coatings. <br />1. Direct-tension bond testing of prepared surface. <br />2. Direct-tension bond testing of completed repair. <br />1.09 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING <br />A. Comply with manufacturer's written instructions, including minimum and maximum <br />temperature requirements and other requirements. <br />B. Store materials off ground, under cover, and in a dry location. <br />1.10 FIELD CONDITIONS <br />A. General: Install products according to manufacturer’s instructions. Consult product <br />manufacturer for environmental limitations. Plan Work and install products only during <br />permissible temperature range specified by manufacturer’s instructions. <br />B. Cold-Weather Requirements: Do not apply unless concrete-surface and air temperatures <br />are above 40 deg F and will remain so for at least 48 hours after completion of Work or <br />as directed by manufacturer. <br />1. If mean daily air temperature falls below 40 deg F, cover completed Work with <br />weather-resistant insulating blankets for 48 hours after repair or provide enclosure <br />and heat to maintain temperatures above 40 deg F within the enclosure for 48 hours <br />after repair.
