Addendum 3 Page 3 <br />CITY OF EVERETT 3200 Cedar Street Everett, WA 98201 (425) 257-8800 Fax (425) 257-8882 <br /> <br />ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS SUBMITTED FOR CLARIFICATION <br />Q1 – This project will require Contractor design for certain scopes of work, including <br />concrete structures and the water line. Will the City require the Contractor to carry <br />Professional Liability Insurance? If so, please provide coverage limits and policy details. <br />The City's insurance requirements for contractors and their subs are as indicated <br />in Division 00 of the contract documents. The City does not require Professional <br />Liability insurance for subs performing design work. <br />Q2 – Can you clarify the available capacity of Deepwater Outfall 100 for groundwater <br />dewatering discharge? <br />3,000 GPM is available to WMVD contractor for discharging at Deepwater Outfall <br />100. <br />Q3 - Are there any design firms precluded from providing design services for Contractor <br />provided design scopes on this project? <br />Brown and Caldwell, 1Alliance (now 1Atlas), KPFF, LMN Architects, HWA, ESA, <br />KBA, and Staheli Trenchless Consultants <br />Q4 - In addition to the 16” water line and precast/CIP structures, is the intent for <br />Contractors to provide design for PVC Gravity Sewer Pipe and PVC Pressure Pipe per <br />sections 33-05-31.11 and 33-05-31.13 respectively? <br />Per item 7 in this addendum, the requirement for design calculations for PVC <br />Gravity Sewer Pipe has been updated in Specification 33 05 31.11. The 12” PVC <br />sanitary sewer must be provided in accordance with the City standards. <br />Specification 33 05 31 does not apply to the 16” water line replacement, which <br />must be provided in accordance with the City standards. All other calculations <br />indicated in the specifications are required. <br />Q5 - How would potential changes be administered in the event that Contractor designs <br />result in material changes to the City’s provided design? <br />It will be handled based on Section 00 72 00 General Conditions 6. Changes. <br />Q6 – When do you anticipate the need for the traffic control set up on TC2-5A showing <br />southbound traffic crossing over onto the east side of WMVD? <br />The Port access indicated in Attachment Q may eliminate the need for the traffic <br />control setup shown on Sheet TC2-5A, as indicated by this note on the sheet, <br />“Scenario 5B represent the layout when construction access to the work site is <br />through the Port Terminal Property with exiting via Lower North Ave <br />Undercrossing.”
