<br />PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Erosion and Sedimentation Control <br />Project No. 180162 31 25 00 - 8 <br /> <br />during heavy rainfall events are not acceptable. Should measures prove ineffective, <br />Contractor shall coordinate with the Owner’s Representative to develop alternative <br />measures, which may include plugging of the pipeline to the outfall and redirecting the <br />flow to other areas within the site to temporary sedimentation pond(s) and/or enhanced <br />treatment systems. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Silt Fence: Per BMP C233: Silt Fence as modified by COE Standard Detail 212 and <br />WSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS 8-01.3(9)A2 <br />1. Filter fabric shall be Geotextile for Temporary Silt Fence per WSDOT Standard <br />Specification 9-33.2(1) Table 6, equal to Mirafi 100X, inert to chemicals commonly <br />found in soil and resistant to mildew, rot, insects, and rodent attack. <br /> <br />Geotextile Property Test Method Posts with Wire or Polymeric Mesh <br />AOS slit ASTM D4751 0.60 mm max. for film woven (#30 sieve). 0.30 <br />mm max. for all other geotextiles. 0.15 mm min. <br />(#100 sieve). <br />Water permittivity ASTM D4491 0.02 sec-1 min. <br />Grab Tensile Strength ASTM D4632 100 lbs. min. <br />Grab Failure Strain ASTM D4632 30% max. at 180 lbs. or more <br />Ultraviolet (UV) Radiation Stability ASTM D4355 70% strength retained min., after 500 hrs. in <br />weather meter <br /> <br />2. Temporary silt fence wire backing per 2.01 D: <br />3. Install Temporary Silt Fence in accordance with DSSC Standard Detail 214. <br />4. Perform maintenance in accordance with WSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS 8- <br />01.3(9)a, and 8-01.3(15). Wire Fabric: 2-inch x 2-inch mesh, 14 gauge. <br />B. Erosion Control Matting and Blankets <br />1. BMP C122: Nets and Blankets <br />2. Temporary erosion control blanket shall be made of natural plant fibers. Supply <br />independent test results meeting the following: <br />a. For installations steeper than 3H:1V : WSDOT Standard Specifications Section 9- <br />14.5(2) Table 6 <br />b. For installations flatter than 3H:1V: WSDOT Standard Specifications Section 9- <br />14.5(2) Table 7 <br />c. For ditch applications: WSDOT Standard Specifications Section 9-14.5(2) Table 8 <br />3. Stapling and Anchoring Materials: Staples shall be used to anchor temporary <br />blankets. U-shaped wire (11 gauge or greater) staples with legs at least 6 inches in <br />length and a crown of one inch or appropriate biodegradable staples can be used. <br />Staples shall be of sufficient thickness for soil penetration without undue distortion. <br />C. Reinforced Plastic Fabric <br />1. Per BMP C123: Plastic Covering <br />2. Plastic covering shall meet the requirements of ASTM D4397 for polyethylene <br />sheeting
