PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Erosion and Sedimentation Control
Project No. 180162 31 25 00 - 15

c. Separation geotextile shall be placed under the quarry spall to prevent fine
sediment from pumping into the rock pad.
d. Install driveway culvert if there is a roadside ditch present.
F. Wheel Wash
1. Per BMP C106, Wheel Wash, SMMWW
2. Provide a wheel wash station at the construction site exit to serve traffic exiting the
site and prevent tracking of dirt or other construction debris onto the access road.
3. Use of the wheel wash is not necessary for vehicles that only enter onto the stabilized
areas that will not cause tracking of dirt.
4. Operate, maintain, and adjust the wheel wash station to provide high pressure spray
to the tires, underside, sides, front, and back of all vehicles using high pressure
sprays. The wash-off water shall be collected in a closed-loop, recycled water system;
with solids collected, monitored, and removed regularly; and wash water disposed
occasionally in compliance with the construction permits. If the Owner’s
Representative deems the vehicle wash spraying to be inadequate for permit
compliance assurance, Contractor shall modify or adjust the system or perform
manual spraying that does so.
G. High Visibility Fence
1. Install high-visibility fence in areas to:
a. Restrict clearing to approved limits
b. Prevent disturbance of sensitive areas, their buffers, and other areas required to
be left undisturbed.
c. Limit construction traffic to designated construction entrances, exits, or internal
roads.
d. Protect areas where marking with survey tape may not provide adequate
protection.
2. Installation:
a. Posts for fencing shall be placed every 6 feet on center (maximum) or as needed
to ensure rigidity. Fencing shall be fastened to the post every 6 inches with a
polyethylene tie. On long continuous lengths of fencing a tension wire or rope
shall be used as a top stringer to prevent sagging between posts,
H. Temporary Silt Fence
1. Comply with the installation detail shown in COE Standard Detail 214. Secure wire
fabric and geotextile fabric to the upslope side of posts. Posts shall not exceed the
spacing shown in COE Standard Detail 214.
2. Install silt fences around the perimeter of all stockpiles.
a. Install filter fabric over wire backing.
b. Secure filter fabric to wire fabric:
1) Secure at top, middle, and bottom of each post.
2) Wire fabric to extend to the top edge of the above ground filter fabric.
c.
