<br />PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Erosion and Sedimentation Control <br />Project No. 180162 31 25 00 - 16 <br /> <br />e. Bury bottom 8 inches of fabric in a 4x4 trench upslope. <br />f. Field joints: <br />1) Lap joints: <br />a) 2-foot minimum. <br />b) Remove all dirt, dust, moisture, and foreign materials. <br />c) Splice only at support posts with wire fabric. <br />2) Repairs: <br />a) Patch with filter fabric. <br />b) Extend lap six inches from damaged area in all directions. <br />c) Proceed as specified for joint. <br />I. Storm Drain Inlet Protection <br />1. Storm Drain Inlet Protection shall be installed at all inlets under the influence of <br />construction activities and maintained throughout construction. Install at all locations <br />indicated on the Drawings, TESC Plan, and where inspection deems necessary. <br />2. Install according to Manufacturer’s recommendations. <br />3. Install in provided or replaced catch basins and storm drain inlets prior to allowing <br />any water to flow into the catch basin or storm drain inlet. <br />4. Install in catch basins and storm drain inlets prior to any earth disturbing activity <br />uphill of the structure and prior to allowing any water to flow into the structure. <br />J. Compost Filter Socks <br />1. Install as shown on the Drawings. <br />2. Upon completion of project cut open compost sock, spread soil, and remove and <br />dispose of mesh sock. <br />K. Check Dams <br />1. Sandbag check dams: <br />a. Install at all locations indicated on the Drawings and at all locations required by <br />the TESC Plan. <br />b. Stack sandbags at least 2-3 bags high and 1-2 bags thick. <br />c. Butt ends of bags tightly. <br />d. Overlap butt joints of row beneath with each successive row. <br />e. Leave a weir gap at the center of the check dam. <br />1) Ensure that the edges of the structure are at a higher elevation than the weir <br />gap to prevent flow from escaping around the sides of the dam. <br />2) Place a sandbag(s) as a splash pad on the downstream side of the weir <br />opening. <br />2. Rock check dam: <br />a. Construct out of 4-inch to 8-inch quarry spalls. <br />L. Pipe Slope Drains <br />1. Install at all locations where storm water will be conveyed over cut or fill slopes or <br />away from bare soils to prevent gullies, channel erosion, and saturation of slide- <br />prone soils.
