A temporary pavement patch may be utilized to reopen the paved travel lanes at the <br />end of each construction day. Temporary patches shall be in accordance with the <br />agency requirements or consists of a minimum of two (2) inches of hot or cold plant <br />mix unless otherwise allowed by permit and accepted by the Owner’s Representative. <br />2. The temporary pavement patch shall be maintained at all times. <br />3. Temporary pavement patches may not be left in place in excess of the permit, or a <br />maximum of seven (7) working days, if not specified, following completion of <br />backfilling operations. <br />3.06 CONCRETE SUBSTRATE <br />A. Restore concrete substrate in kind, where removed or damaged. <br />3.07 CONCRETE PANELS <br />A. Restore concrete panels in kind, in their entirety. Saw cut excavation limits and <br />replacement sections. <br />3.08 ADJUSTING MANHOLES AND CATCH BASINS TO FINISHED GRADE <br />A. Adjust manholes, catch basins and other structures to final grade after completing <br />pavement operations. Cut and remove overlay in neat circle to adjustment of the casting <br />and frame to proper grade to within 1-1/2 inches of finished pavement surface. <br />B. After concrete or mortar has set a full 24-hours, paint the edges of the asphalt concrete <br />pavement and the outer edge of the casting with hot asphalt cement. Place hot asphalt <br />concrete to match finished pavement surface and compact with hand tampers and a <br />patching roller. Asphalt concrete and cement concrete shall be considered incidental to <br />the Work. Match the patch with existing paved surface for texture, density, and <br />uniformity of grade. Carefully paint the joint between the patch and the existing <br />pavement shall then be carefully painted with hot asphalt cement or asphalt emulsion <br />and immediately cover with dry paving sand before the asphalt cement solidifies. <br />C. Thoroughly mortar and plaster the inside throat of the structure. <br />3.09 TEMPORARY DRIVABLE SURFACES <br />A. Temporary drivable surfaces shall only be provided where required to maintain access in <br />Lower Norton Avenue. <br />B. Gravel Surfacing <br />1. Provide CSTC or CSBC per WSDOT Division 9. <br />2. Minimum compacted thickness: 24 inches, unless otherwise required. Place in <br />maximum 8‑inch lifts. <br />3. Compact each lift to a firm, stable surface appropriate for construction vehicles. <br />C. Geotextile Separator <br />1. Provide Temporary Non‑woven geotextile meeting WSDOT geotextile standards.
