2026 Pavement Maintenance Overlay Special Provisions <br />PW# 3860 SP - 45 March 5, 2026 <br />1 Contractors vehicles of 10,000 GVW or greater shall not exit or enter a lane open to <br />2 public traffic except as follows: <br />3 <br />4 Egress and ingress shall only occur during the hours of allowable lane closures, <br />5 and: <br />6 <br />7 1. For exiting an open lane of traffic, by decelerating in a lane that is closed <br />8 during the allowable hours for lane closures. <br />9 <br />10 2. For entering an open lane of traffic, by accelerating in a closed lane <br />11 during the allowable hours for lane closures. <br />12 <br />13 Traffic control vehicles are excluded from the gross vehicle weight requirement. If <br />14 placing construction signs will restrict traveled lanes, then the work will be permitted <br />15 during the hours of allowable lane closures. <br />16 <br />17 Advance Notification <br />18 The Contractor shall notify the Engineer in writing of any traffic impacts related to lane <br />19 closure, shoulder closure, sidewalk closure, or any combination for the week by 12:00 <br />20 p.m. (noon) Wednesday the week prior to the stated impacts. <br />21 <br />22 The Contractor shall notify the Engineer in writing ten working days in advance of any <br />23 traffic impacts related to full roadway closure, ramp closure, or both. <br />24 <br />25 The Contractor shall notify the Engineer in writing of any changes to the stated traffic <br />26 impacts a minimum of 48 hours prior to the traffic impacts. <br />27 <br />28 F2-03.3(1).OPT7.FR2.docx <br />29 (October 3, 2022) <br />30 Public Notification <br />31 The Contractor shall furnish and install information signs that provide advance <br />32 notification of a ramp closure, roadway closure, or both, a minimum of *** 3 *** working <br />33 days prior to the closure. Sign locations, messages, letter sizes, and sign sizes are <br />34 shown in the Plans. <br />35 <br />36 The Contractor shall notify *** Engineer ***, in writing, a minimum of *** 3 *** working <br />37 days prior to each closure.
