2026 Pavement Maintenance Overlay Special Provisions <br />PW# 3860 SP - 80 March 5, 2026 <br />1 <br />2 <br />3 DIVISION8.GR8 <br />4 Division 8 <br />5 Miscellaneous Construction <br />6 <br />7 8-01.GR8 <br />8 Erosion Control and Water Pollution Control <br />9 <br />10 COE 8-01.3(1)A TESC.rtf <br />11 8-01.3(1)A Submittals <br />12 <br />13 Section 8-01.3(1)A shall be supplemented with the following: <br />14 <br />15 (******) <br />16 <br />17 When a TESC Plan is not included, the Contractor shall submit a written TESC Plan, and <br />18 update the plan during the life of the project. The Plan shall specifically indicate methods for <br />19 minimizing runoff during the construction. The Plan shall also discuss measures taken to <br />20 minimize time lapse between the removal of existing curbs, sidewalk, pavement, and the <br />21 installation of the new ones. <br />22 <br />23 No separate measurement or payment will be made for providing and maintaining the written <br />24 TESC Plan. All costs associated with providing, and maintaining the TESC Plan shall be <br />25 incidental to various contract unit price associated with erosion control. <br />26 <br />27 GSL 8-01.3(8) STREET CLEANING.rtf <br />28 8-01.3(8) Street Cleaning <br />29 (******) <br />30 <br />31 Section 8-01.3(8) of the standard specifications is supplemented with the following: <br />32 <br />33 This work shall consist of sweeping all construction related roads and cleaning the <br />34 pavement and removing debris from the roadway. <br />35 <br />36 The use of water to perform street sweeping work shall be held to a minimum unless <br />37 designated otherwise by the Engineer. The contractor shall provide self-propelled pickup <br />38 sweepers and/or vacuum pick up sweepers for pavement cleaning and debris removal <br />39 whenever their use is ordered by the Engineer. The type and number of sweepers are <br />40 subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br />41 <br />42 Daily sweeping shall continue on all construction related roads at least once per day until <br />43 said surface is covered with new HMA. In the event the Contractor sweeper will not be <br />44 able to work daily on ground surfaces, the City Forces will provide services, and the <br />45 Contractor will be billed for each hour of operation. <br />46 <br />47 The following work shall not be paid by Street Cleaning, it shall be included in the bid <br />48 item Planing Bituminous Pavement (2 Deep), per square yard:
